Palin's Dereliction of Duty
The American Spectator ^ | July 3, 2009 | Quin Hillyer

Posted on 07/03/2009 2:15:42 PM PDT by EveningStar

Knowing that many, many conservatives will absolutely dump on me for saying this, I can't help myself: Sarah Palin's resignation is an appalling dereliction of duty and a highly cynical move to set herself up for a presidental run for which she is manifestly unqualified.

she will not recover from this move

Recover what? .....you got some "inside source" that says she's going to run for pres? Or are you just following the MSM assumption?

Ditto to your well stated post.

Sarah Palin is a good woman. I can think of no better praise than that. As stated many years ago, in English Literature, by one Hilaire Belloc. His essay- The Good Woman.

It makes her look like a quitter.

The rest of your statement is irrelevant because you already seem to be convinced.........

All we can do right now is wait and see or pray. This move is out of context for her.

The news initially stunned me a bit, but in this day and age, you have to stop and not let the emotions take over until you get more information and consider the ramifications. It’s so easy at face value to call her a “quitter”. But it’s not her character so something else is in the works.

Frankly, what she is doing tells me more of her courage and convitions, and her faith. Because she is putting both her family and Alaska first at the risk of her future ambitions, this is the kind of person I trust and want in the White House.

And I hear you about the Dems. That also goes for the Drive-By Media. I trusst next to nothing they say and attempt to find more credible sources of their reports. What they’re doing not only to this country but also to individual citizens, public or private, is despicable.

OK, I said I needed 24 hours, it only took one.

This makes war inevitable. That's my reaction.

I do believe that all things work out for the best because God is sovereign, but that does not mean it appears to be the best from our point of view.

So then why put the negative appearance into words, and over and over again? God is in charge. Stand on it in faith.

I didn’t say she wouldn’t but it would be a huge mistake. She’s now a less than full term former Governor who quit on her state. Good luck with that!

"They" absolutely includes John McCain.

Maybe everything they said about him is true. He certainly put the knife in our backs. If she found one in her chest with his name on it, that would have had to be the final straw -- for this round.

And yah think it's gonna be easier if she were POTUS?

The decision makes a lot more sense if you consider the logic of the decision rather than thinking of it in shallow political terms.

The current occupant of the office has demonstrated that even a crackhead can be elected POTUS. There is no longer any honor associated with that position, just a lot of raw power.

Claiming her actions are somehow stupid is as silly as saying Jesus was a failure because he didn't overthrow the Roman oppressors of Judea and went meekly to the Cross.

This is her Jesus moment. Everyone will hate her for it, but future generations will look back and see it for what it really was. And you will be ashamed.

Even today when she was resigning she spoke well of John McCain.

Smells fishy. Why still cling to the “maverick” label? I didn’t like it eight months ago and I like it less even now. We don’t need “mavericks” and RINOs. WE NEED CONSERVATIVES!

In the past 4 years, I wonder if God is punishing cosnervatives.

Maybe He's just giving the other side enough rope to hang themselves.

(”Don’t explain; your friends don’t need it; your enemies won’t believe it anyway.”—Sarah Palin)

FWIW, thought Sara used it in her speech, that is an original quote by author Elbert Hubbard.

NOT if you’ll be broke by the end of it. What middle-class fmaily can afford half a million dollars in legal fees, governor, or not? It is insane.

And not if your opponent in the last election not only was an illegal candidate, but was willing to take millions in illegal foreign contributions, and no one has done a damn thing. She can't do this alone, people. Our side done laid down and died.

Keep praying.

Let's put it in full context, Sport.

She’s now a less than full term former Governor who quit on her state because frivolous law suits cost the good citizens of Alaska $2M and more due to the Governor and staff spending the majority of their time on these law suits and not on running Alaska.
