Today, Florida State Represenatives Workman and Plakon, along with co-sponsors Dorworth, Eisnaugle, Kelly, Precourt, and Tobia introduced House Memorial 19 (HM19), which “Urges Congress to honor provisions of U. S. Constitution & U. S. Supreme Court case law which limit scope & exercise of federal power.” (h/t David Reid)

The goal of the memorial is to serve “as a notice and a demand to the Federal Government…to cease and desist, effective immediately, from issuing mandates that are beyond the scope of [their] constitutionally delegated powers.”

Florida is now the 37th state where such a resolution has been introduced. So far, seven states have had both houses of their legislature approve a sovereignty resolution, while three states have rejected them.

Resolutions are a great first step. What's next? Maybe firearms freedom act, health care freedom act, etc?

Not to niggle but technically speaking, it was Lincoln who sealed their fate in 1865.

I live in Florida, and at this time I am about ready to see my state leave the union. The federal government of the USA is a malignant and aggressive cancer. If the cancer cannot be cut from the body, the perhaps the body should cut itself from the cancer.

Lincoln did what he had to do. He was facing a class of political cheats and civic criminals.

Perhaps.. but it was the states that broke from the union in the end.. and that made them a target... just like any other foreign country it gave Lincoln the right to make the move that he did.

"it was the states that broke from the union "

You are familiar with The Obammunist's czars? Actually commissars/political enforcers accountable only to Hussein? Energy, finance, consumerism, auto industry, etc.

He is now appointing geographical commissars. His first is "Great Lakes" commissar.

In the congress these would be your whips. Responsible for making sure the individual party members follow the dictat. They also are responsible for punishing drifters from the party line.

The Obammunist has them all over the country at all levels. We only hear of the federal commissars.

This Republic died when Lincoln attacked the south.

The day is soon coming when states will again be forced to separate, and this time there is nothing the SOB's in DC can do about it.

Socialist Security is a violation of the Constitution. So is Medicare/Medicaid.

Suggest this book to all: “The Dirty Dozen” by Levy and Mellor. It’s about 12 Supreme Court decisions which undermine the Constitution.
