New Gallup Poll: More Americans See Democratic Party As 'Too Liberal'
Little Green Footballs ^ | June 30, 2009 | Little Green Footballs

A new Gallup poll has some interesting results; this year the number of Americans who described the Democratic Party’s views as “too liberal” increased to a historic high mark (46%), putting it slightly ahead of the number who say the Republican Party is “too conservative” (43%).

However, it’s not great news for the Republicans, because the number who say the GOP is “too conservative” has remained unchanged from its own historic high mark last year.

It looks like a lot of Americans are disenchanted with both parties for being too extreme.

Here’s a Gallup video on the poll with more details on the results.

Sounds like a great open door opportunity for a legitimate 3rd party...

If LGF is playing goldilocks here then I’m sure Obama is “just right”.

"Liberal" doesn't beging to describe it these days.  "Stark raving mad" would come closer.

The following is directed to all Freepers in general.

Some Freepers see everything through a red, white, and blue filter.  Lets prove right now how many of us do.  1% of the Freepathon total has been reached.

Do the deed.  Click those smiling faces right now.  Spread the word...

Folks, can't we at least bump the thread?  Hell, with thousands of posts here, there hasn't been more than a few posts on  the Freepathon thread in nearly 2.5 hours.

Lets pick up the pace a bit here...

You have got to be kidding! Third Party talk makes me wonder because most cannot even get 5% to get on the Oklahoma ballot but it can sure screw up some Senate races like MN and give us Franken.

"Not ‘liberal’. Socialist."

I appreciate your saying that. I'm reluctant to push semantics, but the word 'liberal' is terribly misused these days, and the modern American left is anything but liberal. They are in fact the most nihilist totalitarian bigots in the modern West.

I think most third parties are usually dismissed by most moderate voters because they are usually too extreme—even more so than Dims and Republicans.

I think the truth of the world we live in is that people are 1. uninformed, 2. uneducated, and 3. uninterested in the political process. Most of the them vote for the ‘moderate’ sounding candidate. Each candidate promises moderate things and then does whatever their extreme segments of their party wish.

I think someone who promised fiscal responsibility, liberty and freedom in legislation, constitutional adherence in the judiciary, and who can reflect the majority of America’s views on social issues would do very well.

If this is a great opportunity for a third party, then that third party would have to be more liberal than the republicans and more conservative than the democrats to match the results of this poll.

Well, the best news is that a month or two ago, about 40% of Americans considered themselves conservative, 20% liberal, the rest moderate or undecided. Now if only some of that squishy moderate group can wake up and see where the left and the Anointed One want to take the country.

Conservative have always led in such polls and liberal has usually placed third after moderate.

Problem is people vote for allegedly “conservative” democrats who are anything but.

The Democrat party no longer exists. It was replaced by the Socialist Democrats and is a Criminal enterprise.

Worst news for Obama, Pelosi, Reid, Kennedy, Kerry, and the rest of the leftist touch-holes is, those who self-identify as “too liberal” even see the Demwit Party as “too liberal”. How bad is that? ;’) That part of course wasn’t published. ;’) ;’) Thanks justiceseeker93.
