Someplace with a blue flag and something (an eagle?) I can’t see.

Cleveland is sad. Just plain sad. The Flats are all condos now, so they’re not so ‘after-dark.’

Lake Erie is still interesting, though. Somewhat out/away from Cleveland, it really is nice.

I must admit that the funniest bit of “Roger and Me”, was when Michael Moore showed an ad for promoting tourism in Flint. Now that was funny.

That is the money line.
I sat watching it kind of chuckling, especially at the line about not slowing down in East Cleveland or you’ll die (had to do my time around Cleveland Clinic with a sick father), BUT the Detroit line busted me up.

I’m stuck here in Detroit.

Are you in Detroit now? Not really a step up or down. More like sideways. I gotta go downtown tomorrow to see my Herb Doc. I don’t venture outa Chinatown though. Bo loong for Dim Sum after the Doc visit. Yum!

yah...I grew up in Ashtabula, and I moved to the Pacifist Northwest because this is as far away from Ohio as I can get, and still remain in the lower 48...

Yes. *sniff*

Seriously, it’s a step down.
We just had seven kids shot at a bus stop. Our Police Chief was quoted as saying that when a kid is shot in Detroit, all of us just take another bite of cereal and go on.

Last year when we were in Cleveland, it was all over the news for three days that SOMEONE GOT SHOT IN DOWNTOWN!
My DH and I laughed. In Detroit, it wouldn’t even make the news.

I live in southern California now but was born and raised in the Collinwood area. Many happy, happy times there and if you could change the weather, I might still be there. Lifelong Indians, Browns and Cavs fan(I miss my AHL Barons)

I'm still laughing.

I heard the best joke about Cleveland in all places but Saudi Arabia. I was at the furthest construction camp Khurais, in the southern fields at dinner in the western/arabian dining hall.

Everybody was tired, miserable (typical), and going through the motions of filling up their trays when a loud booming voice in back of the room screamed "What is the best thing that ever came out of Ohio?" There was a pause, silence and then from another side of the room someone screamed "A road!" There was a slight pause and the entire place, Westerns and Saudis busted out laughing. They were still laughing when I headed back to my portable for the evening.

Seriously, if you had stayed in Collinwood, you’d probably be dead.

My best friend is FINALLY getting out of Slavic Village and moving to Berea. I prayed many years for the safety of my Goddaughter.

Wasn’t the Bridge Tavern in Collinwood? Man! I used to have a 45 clipped under my steel guitar seat when I played there!

All I know is that I went to a Baby Shower for one of the BP America ladies I worked with, down in Collinwood.

They were shocked that I showed up. When I went to leave, the girl’s 50 year old mother walked me out to my car and waved a few people off while I got in.

It creeped me out and I said some prayers leaving there.

Yup! The cops used to escort us in and out of the Bridge Tavern. They said all our equipment would be stolen the instant we turned our backs. Even worse than the area around the Avalon Ballroom on W.25th.

ROTFL

Gotta be careful, my in-laws live in Beachwood. The video does capture the "essence" of downtown Cleveland quite well, though.
