This is good news for FORD who is seeing more sales than expected in June. The Wall Street Analysts had predicted a 17% decline.
GOVERNMENT MOTORS not reported their June sales numbers yet, but the numbers should be released within the hour.
I’m glad Ford’s numbers are starting to look a little better.
Have they yet announced how they expect to fare with Cap and Trade?
Here is some commentary from Dow Jones Newswire:
“””Ford, the healthiest of the Detroit Three, boosted its third-quarter U.S. production target for a second time Monday. The change is a sign demand is improving and Ford is gaining market share from rivals General Motors Corp. (GMGMQ) and Chrysler Group LLP, which are still dealing with restructuring. On Wednesday, Ford said its June market share rose 3 percentage points.””””
I am not sure how Ford calculates that its June market share rose 3% without knowing what Government Motors sold. But I will take any indication that CEO Obama and his Union Thugs running GM are in deep doo-doo.
A “Fix Or Repair Daily” (FORD) product is all that I’ll consider buying the next time I go auto shopping.
I’m glad to note that Ford’s decline is now down to only 10% year under year.
That headline could have been a bit better. “Ford Sales Decline Down from 40% to just 10%”, would have been better.
Go Ford!
I’m pleased that Ford is making its own way back.
But I also think Chairman ObaMao will crush them by whatever means necessary.
Slavery is freedom ping.
You can bet that Government Motors will be well supported by the Baraqqis until at least November 2011. That doesn’t bode well for Ford in my view.
We call them “quirky”.
I’ve got two F150s over 10 years old and they’re absolutley reliable despite the creaky bodies, perpetually squeaky belts, and slow cranking starts.
I was ready to replace my 192,000+ mile Ford Focus wagon with a new one but they discontinued the wagon model. Now Ford has no small wagon choices so I’m going elsewhere. I’m thinking Honda Fit right now.
Well said. If your post had arrived just a bit sooner, I wouldn’t have bothered composing my post #11.
I bought an ‘87 Taurus new. Put over a hundred thousand on it till some idiot totalled it. Never put more than a timing belt and water pump on it.
“Have they yet announced how they expect to fare with Cap and Trade?”
No, but no better than anyone else except skateboard manufacturers.
How can they compete with 0’s government motors?
If I had the money I would buy another new Ford right now.
However I would keep my 94 Escort because it still passes with flying colors
and gets great gas mileage.
On a long trip in 2001, it got 35 plus mpg.
Don’t know about now. Only had a couple minor complaints
over the years. I still love it.
I have a 2001 Ford Escape that has 150,000 miles and still runs very well. In two weeks I should have my new vehicle. The purchase?
A 2009 Ford Escape. The only reasons I’m getting a new vehicle are: 1) I want to support an American Car company that did not take taxpayer money; 2) I live in Dearborn and Ford is essential to my city staying afloat; and 3) driving a SUV will allow me to tow my boat AND piss off the lefties in their Priuses.
I’ve found nothing but reliability in ford trucks.
“Im pleased that Ford is making its own way back.
But I also think Chairman ObaMao will crush them by whatever means necessary.”
He’ll do by financing every GM and Chrysler vehicle with low cost or no cost government loans and the US Government can issue that money into infinity.
Ford’s ability to finance its cars is finite.
