PORTLAND, Ore. A cell phone text exchange between Portland Mayor Sam Adams and the young man who was briefly his lover predicts "we are both ruined" shortly after the affair became public early this year.
In documents released by the Oregon attorney generals office on Tuesday, a four-page redacted summary of e-mail exchanges between Adams and Beau Breedlove last January show mutual concern for the breaking scandal.
In one exchange on Jan. 27, apparently from Breedlove to Adams, Breedlove writes: "Well, now we are both ruined. Disgraced and ashamed. Im sorry Sam."
He continues: "Im the felon, the slutty trashy felon. All over the news."
Adams replied: "Im so sorry Beau."
A report by Attorney General John Kroger released Monday said investigators found no credible evidence the openly gay mayor initiated a sexual relationship with Breedlove in 2005 before Breedlove turned 18.
But Kroger criticized the former legislative aide, who turns 22 this week, for leaking some details of the relationship, posing for an erotic gay magazine and benefiting from the publicity over the sex scandal that broke just after Adams took office.

“ca rear” Freudian slip?
remember its just a life style alternative, nothing out of the ordinary. Same as any hetronormative family.
Had the mayor been Republican and the “lover” an underage girl, we’d get to hear about this from the likes of Olbermann and Maddow. As it is, I doubt we even have a scandal here. After all, it’s just a lifestyle choice in this case.
I mentioned that spelling was INTENTIONAL...
I’ll never buy his beer again!
This isn’t even about “them”, unless the “them” are the people of OR. They couldn’t control themselves, but can the people of OR control themselves?
