Still, even his explanations tend to end with a question mark, like this one earlier this year: I see absolutely no reason for Texas to leave. But if Washington continues to disregard the states and continues to try to force states to change the way that they govern, who knows what may happen?

Look, I am not ready to leave the U. S. of A., but with the current trash going on in DC, secession is looking better than staying. Just look at the gore bull climate change bill that just passed the house. Texas will get to shoulder a lot of the new taxes. Screw DC.
When you use the term "Ya'll" remember that sounds all inclusive... I did not create one bit of the mess and I will not be held responsible.....
I suspect that should secession actually become a reality (a dream for now) other states will follow....quickly.
There shall be no cap and trade in the Republic of Texas.....no nationalized healthcare either...because we will have all the hospitals and physicians that you Amerikans will utilize.... Oil, gas, aerospace, nuclear energy, and medical care.....the future of the Republic of Texas.
The interesting thing is that for 11 of those 17 years of Texas presidents, the Texan in the White House also had control of both houses of Congress. So don't try and pretend that all that spending wasn't done with the full support and approval of the man in the White House. And don't go blaiming Congress when the President was fully capable of vetoing any spending Congress authorized.
By what means.....slinging their purses at us?
Count me in. I don’t have far to drive.
It is my understanding that “y’all” is singular,
“all y’all” is plural...
Ah but the devil is in the details.
Instead of trying to dissuade us, why dont you come on down and join us?
Thanks but I think I'm going to stick around and try and take the whole country back.
You do realize we are talking secession? You make a great case for it.....
Once Texas goes, the rest of the South and lower Midwest would eventually follow. As far as a Constitution, I believe there is a pretty good one in a case in a museum in D. C. that gets trampled on daily by the liberals in this country in the name of progress. Add a few items like term limits....
While nonsensical whines about BS points the main issue remains...you have to be stupid or a liberal to NOT see secession as a viable option worth considering if things continue down the road zerObama is taking us.
I think you meant to reply to “nonsensical”.
And speaking for myself alone I won't do anything to stop you. But don't expect to screw the rest of us while you're leaving.
What’ll you do to stop the “screwing”?
Ah but as a Texan posted earlier in this thread, Texas is not where you were born, but is a State of mind and heart. I'm sure that if you asked them, both Bush's would say that in their heart and mind they're Texans.
Sorry, you don't get to blame them on someone else.
Show me a list of the constitutionally mandated expenditures of the general government THEN we'll talk.
-----
We're talking about the bill that Texas presidents have run up to date.
No, YOU'RE talking about Texas presidents because YOU are the only one who thinks where a President is from is somehow relevant. It is merer ANOTHER of the straw-man arguments you are famous for.
-----
And a $900 billion debt load should take care of that.
Constitutional authority, please.
-----
Nor is it a club to beat the rest of us with on your way out the door.
ROFLMAO!
Texas won't NEED a club. If you think you're owed something, send us a bill. I'm sure we can come to an agreement.
A right to some kind of remuneration in no way, shape or form can interfere with the right of a State to take action if the federal government acts against the best interests of the State.

"If the States look with apathy on this silent descent of their government into the gulf [of consolidation] which is to swallow all, we have only to weep over the human character formed uncontrollable but by a rod of iron, and the blasphemers of man as incapable of self-government become his true historians."
--Thomas Jefferson to Charles Hammond, 1821.
I’m for it;
the current president is as much of a horse’s ass as the last one who sparked secession talk.
Work hard to elect a conservative president and conservative congressmen and senators. Gotta find some first.
