Only cap and trade can save us (mega hurl alert)

....The Republican opposition ranged from the denial that there is any proof that greenhouse gasses cause global warming. There are others who interpreted the bill as just another tax on Americans. The usual Republican crowd chanted that it will destroy the American industrial base and force American companies to move abroad where there are no such limitations.

The dirty little secret is how we are voting for the right hand of world socialism, a bunch of globalist creeps and sellouts like McCain. The right hand is corporatism. The left hand is socialism. Pick your poison.

Republicans rarely offer fullthroated opposition to anything. There are always just enough of them to pass whatever toxic nonsense is on the plate.

But we can listen to Hannity interview Dick Morris and Sanford, and Rush talk about the need for increasing corporate salaries, and Savage talk about food and his dog, and Levin read long pieces from the Heritage Foundation about health care.

No wonder we constantly get our butts kicked.

Did you hear Boehner reading from the 300 page addition to the bill yesterday afternoon? This bill will hit every single household in America in more than just their energy pocket book. It could literally prevent them from ever being able to sell their home.

Included in the wonderful cap and trade that the House passed was all kinds of new requirements that existing homes meet certain green standards (tbd by the Energy Secretary, I presume) before they can be approved for resale. Additionally, appraisers would have to be retrained in order to be able to determine if homes meet these standards, which will cause appraisal fees to rise (usually paid by the seller). So, new home sales will bounce back when it will be impossible to sell your existing home without putting in $75,000 worth of Federally required green improvements. There were no specifics mentioned, but an open door for requiring anything from solar panels, to radiant barriers, insulated windows, increased insulation, more energy efficient HVAC systems. Have you priced that stuff lately? Would you be able to sell your house?

Realtors, you’d better start to lobby the senate to kill this thing, or your days are numbered. If you have plans to sell your house, ever, you’d better start spending your home improvement dollars on energy efficiency, because you’re going to have to do it to sell your house anyway.

The other interesting thing is that the news outlets are barely mentioning this Cap and Trade victory. They continue to talk about Jacko and Mark Sanford.

Why is that? Our rulers just may feel the beginnings of the earth moving. And many of us believe our elections are fraudulent and we are ruled by socialists, sodomites, and Orwellians. They allow us to post here to see our own powerlessness. In the old days, they controlled information through Cronkite and the Wapo. Now they spoon feed it to the idiots through CNN, the View and the Daley Show and don’t worry about the rest of us. So when they sit on a story, it’s significant. In the old Soviet Union, the folks watched what wasn’t said, and for nuances in reporting.

The anger is only beginning.

Well that definitely qualifies as stupid crap. FR needs to lead the way with a new verb: Getting “pelosied” from the root word “pelosi” meaning railroaded or rushed into having large items inserted into one’s nether regions.

parsy, who will contact the Oxford Dicitonary people.

The press will lead them in another Two Minutes Hate against Snowball, I mean George W. Bush.

To the point.

Now its time to re-institute the true town hall, run by citizens for citizens. Its what your grange halls, community centers Italian American clubs, Lions, Kiwanis, Odd Fellows, Masons — its what these are for. Don’t count on ‘the media’ because they are sold out.

It’s time to restore constitutional government from the ground up.

” Utility cost is not going to kill American consumers. No American government will let any of this to happen. The long term gain of taking action today is better than the short term pain. Those who tell you otherwise are essentially telling you there is a legitimate way to gain without feeling any pain.”

Sounds like waterboarding-lite.

The days are dark, but throughout history the pen, (or keyboard) has proven mightier than the sword.

Each of us can be a Tom Payne or Ben Franklin, speaking the truth against the globalist canards and politically correct slogans. It has reached the point where people are tired of that. Their eyes glaze over. They are ruled by it every day.

We need common sense, first in our own lives, then in our neighborhoods, then in our communities. Alexander Solzhenitsyn and Natan Sharansky once stood against far greater odds than our own, and they did not weaken.

Right. They'll just print up more money and hand it out. Problem solved! ;-)

I suggest they read the damn bill first...

The Republican opposition ranged from the denial that there is any proof that greenhouse gasses cause global warming.

The opposition is due to the liberal denial that there is, in fact, a debate within the scientific community about global warming.

Denying that there is widespread public scientific skepticism about man-made global warming, and then using that denial as a basis for implementing the most draconian and freedom-destroying laws in the history of the country, is beyond reprehensible.

Is it really bad thing? What if it leads to more nuclear power plants,

Do you see that in the bill? Let me answer that for you. No. It isn't there. Our 'energy policy' is based on more expensive, less energy.
