*Welcome to the FReeper Canteen* Summertime Memories
Running through a lawn sprinkler getting soaked on a hot summer day
Endless games of hide 'n seek which went on as late as our neighborhood group could get away with and the parents called us home
Campfire Girl summer camp with the bugle wake-up call every morning
Hot dogs from the grill with lots of mustard
Cicadas singing all night long... the next morning their empty shells on the tree
A cold, sweet snow cone..with the inevitable dribbles on the chin
Swimming holes, creeks, and lakes.
Chiggers and fireflies lighting up the night
What are some of your favorite memories of summer?

to keep with the thread topic:
Camping with the Scouts
Baseball, both watching and playing(5 years of Little League) and ice cream at the Dairy Queen afterwards

Yes, we did that some at my grandmother’s ranch. We don’t
have fireflies out here. Too desert-y, I suppose. I love
them, though.

Firefly jewelry..and headlights on Tonka trucks.
We had a slight hill in the back yard.
I was small enough to sit on the Tonka and ride it down the hill.
I think I weighed about 37 pounds when I started first grade.

When I was young the watermelon parties at the end of wheat harvest were a treasure with cousins.
Those same cousins and I would in our 20’s meet in a nearby dry playa where we could spend the hot nights drinking our favorite cool offs and watching the stars with absolutely no people lights on the horizon. Great times and great rockin memories. Watching the Peleides meteor showers to Yes or ELO or ??? 8^)
Thanks for the memory trigger here Connie and Sandrat
