I just got this note from another poster and twitter on the Americans supporting Iranian liberty & those fighting for it site on Facebook.
This is pertinent right now to the situation in Iran.
Twitter Folks-set your location to Tehran and your time zone to GMT +3.30. Iranian security forces are hunting for bloggers using location/timezone searches. The more people at this location, the more of a logjam it creates for forces trying to shut Iranians' access to the internet down. Please pass the word. There are ways we can help. This is one of those ways.
We have to help protect the Freedom Fighters.

Thanks for the links!
Caption of video:
Protesters shouting "Watch out for the day that we are armed" and "Death to the basij" (Iran's thug militia). They are not even recognized as a branch in the military.
I was under the impression that the basij were secret police? So, they are basically just gov't goons??
Excerpt...
Paramilitary, subordinate to, and receive orders from Iranian Revolutionary Guards and Khamenei. Currently Basij serve as an auxiliary force engaged in activities such as internal security as well law enforcement auxiliary, ... and the suppression of dissident gatherings. They have a local organization in almost every city in Iran.
I think they are also what the Iranians refer to as “plain clothes” in their tweets - but I could be wrong on that.
Don’t you think we ought to wait and see how this whole thing plays out before we start meddling?
I think you are probably right on the right track.
Persians are reluctant (for the most part) to kill fellow Persians so Arabs from around the MIddle East, Palestinians, Hamas, Hezbollah, Afghan Taleban and Eastern European Moslems from Albania etc., were imported and set up in military barracks. with color TV, food and women (often female prisoners from some of the 100 unofficial security ones, which report to only some high up Mullah.
Hopefully by the end of the day or evening AntiMullah will post latest news and breaking information and analysis.
Keep an eye out. More on who is running the Bassiji right now.
FARS, thank you for that information! Please ping me if you post any updates.

Thanks FARS, I’ve looked all through them.

Extremely interesting information, FARS. I am I reading this correctly, that the bassij leadership is unknown at this time?
To the general public and most non-invovled observers. We know exactly who it is and will post it on the article being prepared as we speak, titled:
“Latest Iran News, Analysis & Video”
Give it another hour or two and take a look. I shall try to post a heads up to my list but time constraints do not always permit, so drop by.
http://antimullah.com or http://antimullah.org either one works.
Lots more not generally known stuff will be there too. We have known some of it for a couple of days but did not have a chance to post it till Alan was back and available on Monday (thank goodness).
cheers
