The U.S. Senate, by unanimous consent, passed a resolution apologizing for slavery and racial segregation, according to reports.
Republican Sen. Sam Brownback of Kansas, one of the sponsors, said the measure was no panacea, but could help trigger reconciliation.

I think I’m gonna vomit!
Sure, why not?
I feel soooooooooooooooo much better now.
The U.S. Senate can apologize and offer reparations every day for the next 100 years, but as long as the race baiters are still in operation (Jackson, Sharpton, and company) it will NEVER be good enough.
Why isn’t Harvard and Princeton sufficient reparation?
AAAAAAAGH!!!!!
“...apologizes to African Americans...” who are all DEAD now!
(2) DISCLAIMER- Nothing in this resolution—
(A) authorizes or supports any claim against the United States; or
(B) serves as a settlement of any claim against the United States.

That will come later...
Should be just the Democrats who should apologize.
Degenerates all.
I got Irish blood in me...I WANT A 72in TV!
What is ‘reconciliation’?
Does anyone think that stealing money from people who never owned slaves and giving the money to people who were never slaves is going to make their entitlement mentality go away?? Does anyone think the racial problems would be better? or much worse?
Where oh where are the Republicans on this?
THIS is another occasion where they should stand up and call it what it is. There is not a person on this board who has no experienced unfairness or disappointment. We have laws in place to promote fairness - only now it's REVERSE racial discrimination. Two wrongs NEVER, EVER make what is wrong right.
any one that was a slave should be paid reparations...
With all the challenges we face right now as a nation, why in the heck are they wasting their time on worthless items like this?
On second thought...
This would prevent them from wasting any more time and money on things like cap & trade and Obamacare.
I was born in 1969. I didn’t do anything so therefore I am not apologizing for anything.
And the lawyers are already licking their chops at the number of restitution / reparation claims they will be filing for the next decade. Like many “well meaning” actions before, this one could have intended consequences.
I'm an American; you're an American. Our forefathers made some mistakes, and we've made some of our own. I've got a hunch Mr. Obama’s Muslim African ancestors owned more slaves than mine did. Let's all grow up, stop sniveling, and DEAL WITH THE REALITIES OF TODAY. We are Americans.
The country is bankrupt; someone tell the Socialists in the Congress the $$ is gone.
Correct! And anyone that had a slave should pay the reparations!
