Outspoken Republican Representative Michele Bachmann says she's so worried that information from next year's national census will be abused that she will not fill out anything more than the number of people in her household.

I’ve been thinking about doing this for some time and routinely misrepresent myself when presented with a discriminatory question. Everyone needs to do this.
:-) I did exactly that yesterday.
I had to have an outpatient procedure done and in the pack of forms, the last sheet was from my wunerful State of Obama, err... IL. Question #1 was 'race': White, Asian, Eskimo etc. Question #2 was 'Hispanic or Latino' or 'Non Hispanic or Latino'.
I saw freaking RED!
So I took the pen, drew a box, wrote #3, checked it and wrote:
"Irish & German or German & Irish, either is fine!"I DID tell the receptionist what I did and told her the State of IL could stick it. She agreed, and it was something new IL 'required' and left the form as I wrote it :-)
They will spend tons of money so they can locate non Obama fans/supporters to be put on “a list.” Can you say filegateIIRadicalMarxists? ACORN’s role is to get Democrts elected in the 2010 election. That is why obama gave them all that money. For the 2014 election they will get even more money to ensure obama is re-elected. Asa far as the cencus goes, look for everything to be skewed in the Democrat’s favor.
At the rate obama is destroying the Nation, the 2014 elections may not be necessary. They won’t be anyone to elect.

I believe there was, it was a check box option lumped in Question #1 with 'White'. And I did ponder checking it. But when I saw question #2 on Hispanic, I got 'a tad' angry.

Not true. The action was announced shortly after she made some flaky statement (I forget what it was).
She's in good shape because she's an unashamed conservative, and the people of the district are voting for that.

I have a cousin who's "wonder-bread" white, with blond hair and blue eyes, but when he got a question like this on his college application, he checked "Hispanic." Since his father IS from Spain, technically, he IS of Hispanic decent.
It may have helped him get into college, but he really didn't need it too much... He scored a 35 on his ACT, and both he and his sister got perfect scores on the SAT (though they took the test a year apart!)

Remember, if you do not send the form back at all, the Census will again send someone to your home to collect the information. Fill in the minimum, Constitutionally required information, and be done with it.
Anyone with any sense is worried.
Bachmann is the only pol with the stones to say anything, though.

What is the best strategy for messing with the census to get the best outcome for conservatives? It is time for civil disobedience.

No, none of that. It was all standard medical history stuff -- until that last sheet on 'race'. And our Family Practice MD has ever asked either.
BUT, my wife recently asked to be switched to a new Female Dr in the practice. I told her if that (guns) ever comes up, tell her new Dr its none of her 'dang' business.

"I hereby affirm that the provisions of Title 13 "requiring" me to disclose my race, personal financial data, birthdate, or any other personal, private information to the Bureau of the Census, an agency of the United States government; constitutes an unreasonable, unwarranted search of my person, house, papers, and/or effects; and a governmental invasion of the sanctity of my home and the privacies of life. As such, these provisions violate the Fourth Amendment of the US Constitution, and are thus wholly void and I am not bound to obey them.
I have completed the only those sections of the Census form pertaining to the Constitutionally-mandated actual enumeration, as follows:
1. The actual number of people living at the address printed on the form, excluding untaxed Native Americans;
2. Age of each person in accordance with US Const. Amendment XIV, Section 2.
3. Sex of each person, in accordance with US Const. Amendment XIV, Section 2.
I have thus fulfilled my obligation to the attainment of the actual enumeration of the populace of the United States.
Any fine or other sanction that is levied by any office or organization stemming from the unconstitutional provisions of Title 13 in connection with my response to this or any other Census-related questioning will be challenged in a court of law."
I plan to hand the Obama Brownshirt, um I mean census taker, a signed hardcopy of the declaration when they come to my door to collect the answers to questions I left blank on the form that I send in.
