TOLEDO, Ohio Residents of Toledo, Ohio, are complaining that they received $25 tickets for parking their vehicles in their own driveways.
Mayor Carty Finkbeiner (FINK'-by-ner) says he stands by the citations handed out last week by the Division of Streets, Bridges and Harbor. He says the tickets were issued under a city law against parking on unpaved surfaces, including gravel driveways.

What a country.
‘Fink’ is the right name for him.
Not surprising considering the fact that The City had layoff their police force. Just a way to obtain more money.
I don’t like the whole parking a bunch of cars on the grass of the front lawn, or having a slew of derelict junkers out back, but on a gravel driveway? What’s wrong with a gravel driveway?
I love it.
The water’s all nice and warm.
Froggie feels real good.
And to the question, what else will they do for revenue.....
Yankee creativity shows its shining self.
The mayor is a jackass. I hope he gets successfully recalled and then tried for abuse of power and gets sent to jail.
This man is evil. He has found a way of interpreting the law that allows him to “legally” take money from his people, so he’s doing that. Disgusting!
If I were one of those people I would send that “a hoe” the ticket back in shreads.
Yet people in this country, and on this hallowed forum insist that the government should ensure there safety, by force if necessary and in every conceivable way and in every conceivable place. Shame on us for being a lazy, self indulgent, selfish bunch of dolts.
The time for tarring and feathering of public officials draws near...I wonder how the mayor will look without eyebrows....:-)
Finkbeiner (FINK’-by-ner) sounds like sphinc·ter (sfngktr)

trespass n. entering another person’s property without permission of the owner or his/her agent and without lawful authority and causing any damage, no matter how slight. Any interference with the owner’s (or a legal tenant’s) use of the property is a sufficient showing of damage and is a civil wrong (tort) sufficient to form the basis for a lawsuit against the trespasser by the owner or a tenant using the property. In addition to damages, a court may grant an injunction prohibiting any further continuing, repeated or permanent trespass.
I think that they were trying to get this yahoo recalled. Guess nothing is coming of that.
The Mayor is up for a recall in November.
Well if you are going to tar and feather a public official, your neighbors, and your friendly Freepers will insist you wear your seat belt and stay off the cell phone while doing tarring and feathering. Safety is paramount.
You think this guy gets reelected?
“During a news conference Monday, Finkbeiner ignored a reporter’s question of whether the crackdown and fines were related to the city’s budget crisis.”
No kidding.....
Hopefully a judge will throw this out.
You can make a decent argument that gravel is a type of paving anyway. It is designed to serve the same purpose as asphalt: make the surface suitable for automobiles.
