Embassy Suites, part of the Hilton Hotels Corp., pulled advertising on CBS' site because of complaints, company spokeswoman Kendra Walker told TVGuide.com. The company was not an advertiser on Letterman's show.
"We received lots of e-mails from concerned guests and we assessed that the statement that he made was offensive enough to our guests and prospective guests that we elected to take the ads down," Walker said. She declined to release the cost of the ads.
CBS declined to comment Tuesday.

“No. I figured she was expressing a personal opinion and she’s entitled to that. “
I disagree. Her job was to dispassionately deliver customer service. Not tell you what she thinks or even represent the company’s thinking in some way (unless she was empowered to read a statement about the matter). Now when she leaves that phone bank and is chatting with her friends, she’s entitled to express her opinion just like we are. I don’t go carting my political opinions out and down people’s throats on the phone at work. Neither should she.
By the way - I don’t envy the phone bank reps - it’s a tough job. But it’s not hers to characterize public sentiment. That’s the PR dept’s job - if they wish to make a statement for the company.
I say, when people are rude or out of place, talk to their supervisors. It does help.
“Met Life, they’re one of those thieving whole-life scams.”
Good point. But term life - and only in the season of your life that you need it - married, young kids...
What do you get when you cross a crooked lawyer with a crooked politician?
Chelsey Clinton.
“Haters launch? I think PMSNBC has that backasswards.”
We’re getting pretty versed in reversing the leftards messages (ala ‘1984’).
Did I say anything bad about term life?
Let me put it to you this way - if we get Letterman fired or force him to resign, he won’t be donating vast sums of money to liberal causes. He won’t *have* the money to donate.
Don’t think of it as “getting sidetracked.” Think of it as “depriving the enemy of money.”
The bar is set pretty low these days . . .

No, you didn’t. I meant to say ‘buy’ term life. I was just reiterating was has become more conventional financial wisdom...
Great. I love Embassy Suites and will use them from now on when we travel.
The point was, the left claims that both Rush and McCain said awful things about Chelsea Clinton. They can’t point to any first person confirmation of anything, just some liberal that “said” it happened and it’s reported.
The sad thing is....many claiming to be on the right just lap it up. People, the drive by media is totally in the pocket of the liberal activists and the democrats. Don’t believe it just because they report it.
Glad you said it was a joke...I have seen her pic and I thought your post was just pure reporting.
... not that there's anything wrong with that.
