DOJ Confirms FBI is Reading Miranda Rights to Detainees in Afghanistan Justice Department spokesman Dean Boyd confirms Steve Hayes's report that the FBI is reading Miranda rights to terrorist suspects in Afghanistan:

“There has been no policy change and nor blanket instruction issued for FBI agents to Mirandize detainees overseas. While there have been specific cases in which FBI agents have Mirandized suspects overseas, at both Bagram and in other situations, in order to preserve the quality of evidence obtained, there has been no overall policy change with respect to detainees.”

Personally, I think they need to add a pillow clause to the miranda rights.

With Obama as CIC and Holder in charge of the Justice Dept. it’s obvious we can’t win in Iraq or Afghanistan. Stop using our troops as sacrifical lambs and bring them home now!!

Thanks :) Listening to the interview now. Rogers was on Fox this morning- he’s not letting up on this one bit.

since this is a criminal rights issue, under what jurisdiction or authority is the military, denying
the right of assembly, due process and other civil rights afforded under our constitution to those individuals?
how can you grant them one right and not the other?

can they willy nilly and without a warrant, arrest, and imprison?

Since this is war (not a criminal rights issue), the answer to your questions are: AUMF dated 09182001; not applicable under our Constitution; they have no rights under our Constitution of protections under the Geneva Conventions, and; YES THEY CAN!
