Planets Can’t Grow Past the Electric Fence
CEH ^ | June 9, 2009

June 9, 2009 — In the artwork, it looks so simple: dust clumps into planets that grow into nice, orbiting solar systems – like ours. It’s not so simple when you try to nail down the real physics. Planet-building models have to contend with a host of variables and barriers to growth (accretion). Another barrier was discussed in Astrophysical Journal this month: the electric barrier...

You obviously know way more than your co-religionists in the Temple of Darwin. We are all ears, genius.

Simple, we can find ways to warm up the atmosphere on Mars.. Genetic engineer plants to survive the atmosphere on Mars.. Have comets crash on the planet to do all sort of stuff. I think you would have loved living in the dark ages..

Knowledge is good..

In the micro-second we have been a species you see what we have done. What makes you think that if don't destroy ourselves WE could not seed planets with life?

Good you already agree to pansporia. What makes you think we are a result of chance when mechanics (engineering) are a simpler solution?

Don’t wimp out now (I am a bit of a sour-puss, I admit it lol) You already accepted pansporia (seeding of life on worlds) What’s stopping the billions of potential life-bearing planets from developing the technology ahead of us and starting us?

Nothing.. Just want get off this rock and seed the galaxy.. With variations of humanity (i.e. modifying the human race to survive on different planets)..

These seeded planets, would you leave them to evolve on their own or would you give them instruction booklets on how best to conduct themselves?

"Planet-building is simple and been done."

Yes, by someone to whom it was "simple."

Really amusing to see men trying to imagine-up how it could have been done without him. Morons!

Nah, Tubal Cain beat him by many millenia.

What did Darwin have to say about planet formation?

The Bible isn't stupid, but it isn't a science book either.

"Please, stop embarrassing those of us who are actual scientists with this tripe."

Bowing to the great Dr. of Do-Do!

Surely you know more than God does; if not you, then the god and jesus that you re-invented.

The real laugh is that it takes life to make the goo!

Back to square one...

That’s an especially funny one today, GGG. I especially like the conclusions, which boil down to “science is hard, so let’s try something simpler (God Diddit)”.

Don't underestimate the power of ignorance.

On their own.. Free will.

A free for all. They were your creation, Don't you have some responsability for their developement/well-being? If they evolve into a future threat can you wash your hands of them and say I extingueshed them and I am blameless, when you did nothing to guide them, only exterminate them?

"Simple, we can find ways to warm up the atmosphere on Mars"

You and I have grossly different definitions of 'simple.'

We can't warm up the atmosphere of Earth, a placed designed for us, enough to halt the crop failures in Siberia, and Canada, but we're going to do it on a planet we can't live on? This stuff is definately for dreamers.

We won't; we've watched you use it so naturally, that we're in awe.

The movie(s) are a travesty. Start at the beginning and read all 4 of the little books. I have read them several times.

After reading you might be able to take part in the discussion on the answer to the ultimate question. Some think it is 42 but others of us think it is 38. Douglas Adams says Forty-Two.

Keep your towel handy and above all, Don’t Panic
