It may not be necessary on his part but if I was Alex Rodriguez, I would make a DIRECT COMMENT to letterman that the “joke” was not a JOKE. I would also tell letterman to apologize to Willow and the Palin Family on Tv.

If they would not ever be repeated, I'd agree with you. If Letterman was chastized or shamed by his peers, I'd agree with you. If there were a broad based public outrage, I'd agree with you.
