NEW ORLEANS (AP) - New Orleans Mayor Ray Nagin and his wife have been placed in quarantine after a passenger on their flight to China exhibited flu-like symptoms.
Nagin's press office said a passenger had "signs and symptoms of an influence-like illness suspected to be of the H1N1 subtype." This comes amid continued global concerns about swine flu.
The office said Sunday the couple and a security guard were placed under quarantine in Shanghai as a precaution and were exhibiting no symptoms.

So was Mayor Nagin, wife and security guard on vacation or was it an official trip and others were with them but not isolated? Has anyone seen any comparisons between New Orleans (Katrina 8/29/05) and Galveston (Ike 9/12/08)? From what I have been reading, Galveston after less than a year is far closer to normal than NO after almost 4 years and much more aid not to mention the larger industrial base and shipping from NO.
So how is Nagin doing - popular as ever? Just shows that maybe you can fool all of the voters all of the time!

Who pays for this type of idiocy? Nagin doesn't know enough to evacuate a city that sits below sea level when a hurricane is coming. And economics? NO is still in the toilet and the murder capitol of the country. I swear there is a world wide conspiracy to let the fools of the world set the rules of the world...who is funding this? China? Soros? Communists? It's too blatantly obvious to be an accident of nature.

Several years too late. Uhhh, take your time with this one, China. We would not want him released too soon and risk introducing a germ into the pristine city of NOLA when he returns.

"Nagin doesn't know enough to evacuate a city that sits below sea level when a hurricane is coming"Fortunately for the 80% of New Orleanians who evacuated on their own before Katrina hit, we didn't need Nagin's help.

I swear there is a world wide conspiracy to let the fools of the world set the rules of the world...You seeing this too? Glad I'm not alone. Sure would be nice to know the source so it could be pulled out by the roots.
Everything has been turned up-side down for so long I figure there's gotta be a Kennedy at the controls. I'm beginning to feel like Mary Jo.

This country has gone so far off the deep end, I could actually see this racist poverty pimp elected as the next POTUS after Zero.
Of course, I don’t think the USA will still be a functioning nation by then.
This country is finished. The only thing that remains to be seen how the coup de grace will be administered.

Mitch would’ve used NOLA to rebuild the corrupt Democrat machine that fell apart after Marc Morial’s departure, so he most certainly would’ve been worse in that regard. A lot of us on FR when the choices for the runoff came out went with Nagin, because he was simply too incompetent to reassemble the machine. Mitch would’ve never have allowed the election of Ang Cao to have occurred.
