You Can Trust a Scientist – Can’t You?

May 31, 2009 — After the flap over the “missing link” Ida last week (05/19/2009), paleontologist Christopher Beard warned about how such stunts damage scientific credibility. “The only thing we have going for us that Hollywood and politicians don’t is objectivity,” he told Science magazine.[1] Can the public trust the objectivity of scientists as a class? Do they get more credibility points than other groups of professionals? Do the processes of scientific publication warrant a higher level of trust?

A study reported on Science Daily may shake that trust...

So that is the great advancement of Creation “science”?

The Baraminology group.

Those are the advances that have been made in creation “science” in the last hundred years?

They perhaps have agreed upon a definition of “kinds”, but most likely not.

Meanwhile in the last hundred years actual science has come up with vaccines, medicines, antibiotics, sequenced genomes, derived the universal genetic code, invented enzymes for industrial applications, etc, etc.

Against all that you have Baraminology.

Laughable.

Look in the mirror and say to yourself.

“Baraminology is just as useful to the world as knowing the universal genetic code.”

Maybe if you repeat it to yourself often enough you will actually believe it.

I defended my thesis. Only an absolute moron would characterize defending your thesis and getting an advanced degree in Molecular Biology as “dropping out”.

But thanks for again pointing out that while I know science you know communications. ;)

What advances have occurred in evolution “science” in the last 100 years? In both cases, whether they be Creation or Evo scientists, the society-benefiting discoveries have been made by scientists engaged in operational science, not historical science.

Apparently, you didn’t defend it very well because you dropped out of your Ph.D. program and had to accept a much less prestigious M.S. degree instead.

Yeah...a “real” journal.

A lot of the other nonsense GGG posts is ALSO from “real” on-line journals that are “peer” reviewed too.

As hard a process as I’ve had getting published in real research journals....I doubt plosonline us very “peer” reviewed and I bet Danny’s research has too small of an “N” to make the grade.

It’s only nonsense to those who have sacrificed their brains to the Temple of Darwinistic Materialism. Indeed, everything is ultimately meaningless to Darwinian materialists when you get right down to it.

bolobaby, are you aware that your statement is incorrect?

I know GGG well enough to know that he is not against scientists.

Perhaps you owe him an apology?

Wow...shocker...you rely on 4 nonscientific anonymous websites for all your science....BIG shocker. Why not just a link to the Bible passage in which God tells Noah to NOT collect a male and female of every species of dinosaur?????

That is, if you have the intellectual balls...

Yeah...that’s a great point, metmom...because not all of us can have a BS in biology from a mediocre school and a DSci in Immunology from arguably the best school in the nation.

Yeah, you sure have a point t that only young Earth creationists are the science degrees folks around FR.

Since I’m Bible ignorant and GGG is too gutless to point it out...can YOU tell me the passage in which Naoh decides to not collect a male and female of every dinosaur species, thusly deciding, for the Big Flood, the fate of every dinosaur species God created??

Soooooo....religious studies and administration.....and that qualifies you to play on-line science expert like you do?

Oh yeah...you rely on 4 uber-sciency religious sites for all your “science”...

Say it, don’t spray it. You are, however, correct about one thing. You are indeed Bible illiterate. Otherwise you would know that the word “species” is never mentioned in the Bible.

Tell me again...with all that über-sciency knowledge....how HIV does not cause AIDS and why you’re such a puss that you won’t allow me to run over to my former lab to get an HIV sample to infect you with?

I mean...your science is so sound...and you’re obviously of superior intellect that you wouldn’t ignore such an easy challenge...

THEN, you can provide for me the passage in the Bible in which God tells Noah to allow the drowning extinction of EVERY dinosaur species.

It just goes to show how weak evolutionary “theory” is when a novice like me can hold my own or even get the better of Evo-scientists who have spent their entire adult lives devoting themselves to Darwood’s Evo-religious creation myth.

Why is it your former lab. Are you an Evo-dropout like Allmendream?

PS You are not making yourself clear about your Evo-religiously inspired question about God, the Bible, dinos, and the flood. Could you please be more specific, or are you always this twitchy and scattered?

Wow...another cop-out answer....OK.....have some balls and point out the Bible passage in which God tells Noah to allow to drown in the Great Flood, EVERY dinosaur “kind” in existence at the time.

Stop wiggling, grow a pair, and answer the EASY question...fterall, you have such superior intellect with all those advanced degrees...

So you DO have the Bible passage in which God tells Noah to ignore allthe dinosaurs?

...and you call your nonsense “holding your own”...

Provide the passage...it must be easy for one with such intellect...

In case you missed it....that’s a DSci....as in a DOCTOR of SCIENCE....as in...yes, I stuck it out in arguably the best school in the country....try again and provide the passage in the Bible in which God gives the order to Noah to forget about the dinosaurs.

...and as of yet, you have failed in you über-knowledge to provide such passage.

YOU claim a degree in a study in which this SHOULD be an easy task...but you have thus far shown yourself to not be up for it...as in...nutless.

...and don’t worry...I’m not EVER expecting an answer to such an easy Bible question.....so feel free to remain sans balls.

Boy you really are worked up about this, aren’t you. I don’t blame you, it’s tough to watch your Darwin idols melt under the purifying fire of scientific falsification. I am also gratified to see that you have finally discovered that the Bible uses “kinds” instead of mankind’s flawed concept of species. As for the dinos, I am not aware of any verse telling Noah not to bring any dinos on board the Ark.

Now why don’t you grow a pair and tell me what you are driving at instead of fidgeting around like you have a desperate need to use the facilities.

...and not that it’s any of YOUR friggin business...but it’s my “former” lab because I graduated, got my DSci....and went to a new lab.

...and YOUR science lab is.....??

I bought my lab from Radio Shack. Now get on with your Evo-inquisition before I run out of patience with your painfully prolonged indecisiveness.
