US president Barack Obama has said he is shocked and outraged at the murder of a top doctor who performed late-term abortions.
Dr George Tiller, the object of decades of protests and attacks, was shot dead in front of his wife in a Kansas church where he was serving as an usher.
A 51-year-old man was arrested 170 miles away in Kansas City three hours after the shooting on Sunday.
Johnson County sheriff's spokesman Tom Erickson identified the suspect as Scott Roeder.

While I couldn’t be a member of a church that would have an unrepentant abortionist as a member, there are reasons why a minister may have allowed him to be there - perhaps to slowly influence him through the Holy Spirit to repent or perhaps to minister to his wife to confront him about his work. We don’t know and can’t know.
Yes, there are many liberals churches now that embrace all sorts of sin and apostasy but I will not condemn Tiller’s church without knowing what was their intent on allowing him to be there and to serve as an usher. Maybe he kept a low profile and few knew what his occupation was or perhaps they thought they could minister to him and, over time, convince him to change.

IMO, a church should be a place of peace. I don’t like seeing it disrupted by violence, even violence some would feel is justified.

Hello all! I’m new so I’m just jumping in here. Several things (and questions) come to mind in connection with Obama’s statement:
1). It seems very unusual for a prez to be commenting on the murder of a private person (meaning not a politician, not a member of congress, etc.).
2). It is suspicious to me that Obama mentions the motive of the anti-abortion position in his highly unusual response when absolutely no motive has been established and released by law enforcement. How does Obama know for sure that the killing was related to Tiller’s killing of unborn babies? Why is he commenting on an individual crime?
3). Wasn’t it just about two weeks ago or so that polls indicated that the country is moving toward the pro-life position and that pro-lifers now outnumber pro-abortionists?
I’m not much for tin foil hats, but do these events strike anybody else as questionable?
Tiller the killer is shot (gun grabbers like the impression that leaves) in a church (atheists like the impression that leaves) supposedly for being a late-term abortionist (baby killers like the martyrdom of that), all of which is occurring a couple weeks after it is reported for the very first time in decades that there are now more pro-lifers than pro-abortionists, a condition which the baby killers and the rest of Obama’s hard left goons and thugs are deathly afraid of.
Agree with your being perplexed over Obama even commenting on this at all.

And yes, I think the timing is quite suspicious. You can be the new whitehouse will use this unfortunate act to the max. Holder’s already calling for increased protection of clinics by federal marshalls. “Never let a crisis go to waste...”
I am sure this has been said, and I am sorry that some lunatic took justice into his own hands, but come on already. . . if Obama had reacted half as fast to N. Korea pulling out of a five-decade old armistice I’d sure sleep better at night.
