US president Barack Obama has said he is shocked and outraged at the murder of a top doctor who performed late-term abortions.
Dr George Tiller, the object of decades of protests and attacks, was shot dead in front of his wife in a Kansas church where he was serving as an usher.
A 51-year-old man was arrested 170 miles away in Kansas City three hours after the shooting on Sunday.
Johnson County sheriff's spokesman Tom Erickson identified the suspect as Scott Roeder.

“Outraged”? I didn’t think the weenie was capable of expressing such strong emotion without a teleprompter.
What was the monster (the doctor, that is) doing in church anyway? Why did the pastor or whoever runs the place let him in the door? You shouldn't be upset that this happened in church, because clearly that church looked permissively and smiled and winked at what this "doctor" was doing. There was no sanctity left there, and it is just a building with the trappings of religion in it, nothing more.
They may just as well have been conducting satanic mass there.
He (the killer) is a pre-planned patsy. This is a setup.
The left murdered the doctor to secure their power base, get rid of guns and end all opposition to abortion.
Do not forget the Sotomayer nomination. This will help get it through the Senate.
It is a strange coincidence that after many, many years with no killings of abortionists, just when Obama is trying to get his first Supremen Court Justice confirmed, this should happen
The full AP article notes (way down into it, where it will get clipped off by most papers) that the last such incident occurred in 1998!!!!
Pro-life groups believe Sebeliuss connection to Kansas late term abortionist George Tiller is a major problem. This top WH official confirms that Tillers name has come up in discussions and acknowledges that if shes picked there will be people gunning for her but that ultimately the Kansas Governor is getting a bum rap on the abortion issue. The discussion inside the White House centers on whether Sebelius’s stellar record as public servant trumps the controversy that could arise over Tiller.
While I definitely do not agree with Tiller’s murder, all the same, the man was white trash, and a murderer to boot. Good riddance.
In a way, this could be a good chance to put out there, in very real, very graphic terms, exactly what it is this doctor did to these unborn infants.
He was on the Kansas Turnpike on a Sunday Morning not the 405 on a Friday afternoon.
People in KS didn’t approve of John Brown either.
How many black kids died on the streets of DC this weekend and Obama didn’t raise an eyebrow?
One of his own kind
Sticks to his own kind.
Barack the Baby Butcher defends Tiller the Baby Killer...Whod’a thunk?
This is a very credible travel time line for Kansas, trust me.
Once you are out of Wichita, expect to be passed often if you aren’t going 70.
I did find it a little disquieting that all the early info on the suspect seemed to come from leftist sources.
just simply hopped on a freeway
I drive a truck and have a run I do once a week. 3 hours each way, and I set the cruise at 65 the moment I hit the freeway. My start is 6 blocks from the freeway and my turnaround is 2 blocks from the exit. Not counting time spent at the far end I only average 54 mph. Not sure how far the church is from the on ramp, but if he took time to ditch the gun, "no weapon found" he would still have to be bookin to make a 56-57 mph avg. He could save a little time by throwing it out the window along the way but not much. In the rule of averages it is amazing how much a pause at a stop sign or a stoplight, or time spent going 30 on side streets will drag the avg down.
No, it sounds about right. Wichita in a straight shot from Kansas City on I-35. Speed Limit = 70 mph.
They got his tag number at the site of the crime.. Identified him as the owner of the car. Put out an APB knowing he’d most likely travel up I-35. Put up a road block and stopped him.
Obama’s outrage is misplaced. He should be angry at the infanticide committed by that doctor of death.
You should really warn people before posting a pic like that.
Friday. Not a shooting or a bombing, but any time two people enter an abortion clinic for "treatment", one dies within a few minutes. I'd call that a pretty nasty string of incidents. [Note: I do not in any way condone the murder of this doctor; "life should be valued" means that neither the babies nor the doctor should be killed.]
I haven't seen this much phony outrage since he took over GM and Chrysler.
