STATEN ISLAND, New York, May 31 /
Christian Newswire/ -- Fr. Frank Pavone, National Director of Priests for Life, issued the following statement upon hearing this morning of the killing of abortionist George Tiller:
"I am saddened to hear of the killing of George Tiller this morning. At this point, we do not know the motives of this act, or who is behind it, whether an angry post-abortive man or woman, or a misguided activist, or an enemy within the abortion industry, or a political enemy frustrated with the way Tiller has escaped prosecution. We should not jump to conclusions or rush to judgment.
"But whatever the motives, we at Priests for Life continue to insist on a culture in which violence is never seen as the solution to any problem. Every life has to be protected, without regard to their age or views or actions."
Priests for Life is the nation's largest Catholic pro-life organization dedicated to ending abortion and euthanasia. For more information, visit www.priestsforlife.org.

What a sickening and ham-handed attempt at character assassination.

You obviously have no idea who Fr, Pavone is.

This resolves NOTHING . . . the man needed the opportunity to repent and someone has stolen that from him.
Violence was not the answer in this specific situation.
Now what? Will those who defended him be treated the same?

He had a lifetime to repent. Jesus warns in the Bible that on one knows the day or the hour that he will face judgment, so it’s really not smart to continue wading in mortal sin for years and years.
That doesn’t excuse shooting him. But it seems somewhat odd to say that someone has stolen his chance to repent. God gives everyone numerous chances to repent. If God wanted, He could have prevented this death. But He did not. We don’t know that Tiller didn’t repent in his last seconds of life, but he certainly had ample opportunity to do so earlier.
How many more babies did he plan to kill before repenting?

Interesting thought and one that is HIGHLY probable, given the evil of the Left.

And remember, the contemporary Left is the main proponent of the “ends justifies the means” worldview. Since in their minds they are “kinder and more wonderful” than us “evil right wingers”, any evil they commit is justified because in their hearts of hearts they ulimately just want to attain “utopia on earth.”
They need to be reminded of Jeremiah 17:9
“The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?”

This is what I would expect of Father Pavone. He has been an excellent advocate for the rights of the unborn, and this statement reflects his heart. Thanks for posting it.

I was surprised to read on another thread that this was the second time Tiller had been shot by someone. If the first one didn't cause him to take a good hard look at his "career," then I don't know what would.

re: No where in the Bible does it say that evil should be repaid with good. If there is, I'd like you to point it out.
Luke 6:27, Jesus is teaching the disciples and talks about how one's enemies should be treated: “But I tell you who hear me: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you.”
Not an exact command to do good to evil, but what the poster had in mind.

He shot him in a church. Sounds like a script for a Hollywood movie about a heroic abortionist.

I said prayers for Tiller and all concerned, but the liberal media, sadly, will have a field day with this.

Yeah, I’m afraid so too! There are numerous examples in other places, and other times in the world, when various groups of people of strong faith targeted and punished for the actions of a few.
The authorities in these cases, looking for scapegoats to make an example of, will blame a group of people to get the blame off themselves and send a message. Examples: King of Egypt-enslaving Hebrews, Emperors of Rome-Christians blamed for fire, then condemned and persecuted, Henry the 8th- Roman Catholic clergy/others persecuted and killed, Hitler-Hollocaust of Jews and others, Tsars and other dictators banishing/killing, etc...
