I disapprove of what the killer did, but am I surprised that someone killed Tiller? Not at all and I have occasionally wondered why this did not happen sooner.
I could see why a misguided pro-life person killed him, especially if they had a strong-held position that abortion - and especially partial birth abortion - is murder.
No matter what, you can rest assured he will be indentified as with the Pro-life movement by the lamestream media.
The Kansas Turnpike in the 1960's used to have speed like of 80mph, I think. But that was too long ago to remember.
I was born in Great Bend, KS, so I have visited the state a few times to see relatives...
Tiller probably has hired body guards and may have not been very vulnerable anywhere but church.
Martin Sheen is pro-life and he is about as far left as you can get.
Some interesting Stats on Abortion:
1.3 million abortions are performed each year. (Source: Finer LB and Henshaw SK, Estimates of U.S. Abortion Incidence in 2001 and 2002, Alan Guttmacher Institute, 2005)
That’s 1.3 million dead American babies in one year.
How many since Roe v Wade?
49,551,703 Total Abortions since 1973
WHY didnt the killer WAIT til Tiller was alone...either going home from Church or sometime else.
The turnpike splits at Emporia, pay turnpike towards Topeka, free towards olathe/KC. Its still 70-75 on 35 there.
What!?
You approve of this?
I strongly disagree. This is murder and not justified.
Yep. He certainly was making no effort to hide.
Somebody ought to grab a copy of that in case this turns out to be something unrelated to the abortion issue- so it can be publicly thrown back in his face.
Admittedly- it probably is abortion related, but one never really knows before all of the facts are in.
Of course, I know some crazy drivers...
I registered just to respond. It won’t faze him though. Any thought of journalistic integrity leached out of his mind years ago.
Nothing but naked advocacy left.
By this single act, the shooter has set back the pro-life cause decades. He has condemned more babies to death than Tiller ever dreamed of killing.
I think you are wrong to ask for God's blessing on the murderer of this abortion doctor, no matter how dark and murderous his life had been.
My reason for that has to do with the murder of James the brother of John by Herod Agrippa I. This story is in Acts 12. In that story, Peter is also captured, imprisoned, and set to be wrongly executed by this fanatical king. The church prayed for his release and Peter was miraculously released.
On his release Peter did not rail against the king, nor did the Christians agitate for the death of King Herod Agrippa.
Shortly thereafter, though, God Himself took Herod's life due to Herod's own narcissism.
It is a clear biblical example of a true grievous and a true act of retribution by God, and not by God's people.
Your position is ever so unbiblical, and it is demonstrably so. As our friend wagglebee says, there are 3 moral justifications for killing: a just war, true self defense, and legal/moral capital punishment.
God will not bless the murderer of this murderer, because the shooter decided to play God rather than wait on God. Ultimately, "the wicked shall be cast into hell..."
To be clear, he may be personally against abortion but doesn't think it should be illegal, nor does he "judge" those women who choose abortion. He said in a 2003 interview with "The Progressive Magazine" about abortion...
...so I'm inclined to be against abortion of any life. But I am equally against the death penalty or war-- anywhere people are sacrificed for some end justifying a means. I don't think abortion is a good idea. I personally am opposed to abortion, but I will not judge anybody else's right in that regard because I am not a woman and I could never face the actual reality of it.
I'm just not any fan of Martin Sheen and don't want to see him get credit for anything he doesn't deserve.
The speed limit along that strip of I-35 is 70 mph.
Your statement assumes facts not established. If anything, this will discourage others from performing partial birth abortions, especially if this guy gets off with a light sentence of say 2-5 years.
I think it is safe to assume that there will be fewer late term abortions now that Tiller is dead.
