On Sunday, after 17-year-old Ledarius Williams turned his gun on police - who then shot him in the knee -- at the corner of Cherokee Street and Texas Avenue, one responding officer told a resident that every cop in St. Louis knew of the 17-year-old, thanks to a robust criminal record.
According to this officer, Williams had once declared in the presence of police, "I'll take everybody out with an AK-47, I don't give a [snip]."
But while the cops seem to have gotten their man, not everybody in the neighborhood is toasting the incident. The following graffiti appeared the morning after the shooting on nearby buildings:
They should have shot him in the head and done everybody a favor.
His lawyer will say that he was an honor student..

The officer definitely needs to be counseled on shot placement, in all the training I've received and during my many years as an Instructor, I don't think I've ever heard of the technique or policy that states if a perp points a weapon at you, you shoot for the knees... Geez, now we have to pay for this scumbag a little longer.

A good student, who was often misunderstood...who was trying to escape the bad forces around him, and make a better future for his family.
I told an instructor if the only possible target I had on a bad guy was his little toe, I would take that shot.
His Grandmother says he is a good boy, loved by the community who wouldnt hurt a fly.In fact he is the President of the Local ‘Support Obama” club, and was planning on working for the census until these dirty cops crippled him.
