who then shot him in the knee The officer definitely needs to be counseled on shot placement, in all the training I've received and during my many years as an Instructor, I don't think I've ever heard of the technique or policy that states if a perp points a weapon at you, you shoot for the knees... Geez, now we have to pay for this scumbag a little longer.
