So, you think that because one poster on FR comments that a diabetic supreme court nominee might not live to a ripe old age that all 350,000 of us are insensitive right-wing loons?
Got news for you pal. The owner of Free Republic (namely me) is diabetic and I've already lost one leg due to this despicable disease and the other leg looks like it's ready to fall off any day now. My sister died of complications brought on by juvenile diabetes at the tender age 43. I've out-lived her in years, but I don't think I'll be signing on to any life term judgeships. And I sure as hell wouldn't wish this disease on anyone else.
Hey, what can I say. My political enemies make fun of the one-legged old gimp every day of the week. Good thing I'm not as sensitive as you about such nonsensical non-issues.
And if it's impossible for a minority to be racist, then it's impossible for a diabetic to be insensitive. /sarc
But, I do agree with you on one thing. We FReepers are a bunch of right-wing loons, bitterly clinging to our guns and religion. And proud of it you elitist gasbag!

O’Reilly used to be one of my favorites, now he is just another Chris Matthews. My 14 year old son has Type 1. I understand, believe me. Just set up this site www.ithinkhealth.com . Thank you for all the years of tireless service to our Republic. You Jim have set a standard for many of us. I love the site and hope we can talk directly at some point.

Jim, my (adoptive) Mom was also a victim of this horrible disease. She was diagnosed when she was 18 mos. old (back in 1940 - thank GOD they had discovered insulin by then).
She received a Kidney transplant in 1987, and lived another 10 years (her death was unrelated to the transplant, and there are a lot of mysterious circumstances. Officially the cause of death was complications from diabetes).
My mother passed away at the age of 57 — her doctors at the time of her diagnosis informed her parents she would not live past 30.
My Godfather has diabetes. My Mother-in-law was just diagnosed with Diabetes a year ago. According to the medical history I received from my adoption agency the only thing noted was that my Maternal Grandfather had Diabetes.
I know personally of several FReepers who have diabetes themselves, and one in particular who is undergoing dialysis waiting for a kidney transplant.
Excuse the un-ladylike comment, but Bill O’Reilly can kiss my a** if he thinks that just because of one comment out of how many per day (MANY THOUSANDS), means ANYTHING at all.
I wonder if he ever bothers to check the RESPONSES to posts such as the one he highlighted (I know he probably doesn’t as it wouldn’t suit his agenda...).
I’m so sick of this. A VERY brief time spent on DU, or DailyKOS, HuffPo, could provide a wealth of posts that show far, far worse attitudes, but of course Conservatives don’t make assumptions that EVERYONE on the website agrees with the fools making such comments.
That O’Reilly makes such ignorant and bigoted statements towards all FReepers says WAY more about him than it does about us as a whole. He thinks he’s so intelligent about all of these things, but yet doesn’t acknowledge well-known internet phenomena such as trolls, astro-turfing, etc... Which proves even more how tiny his IQ is.
Sorry for the rant, but this ticks me off...
She got where she did because she is a leftist idealogue through and through. To hold her up as exceptional is disingenuous and masks the lack of approval that conservatives receive in the same environment. Shame on BO and the leftists
