Begin my translation:
From a dispatch in Seoul per Japanese JIJI wire services, North Korea's Central News Agency [KCNA] on Wednesday, May 27th said that with South Korea's threatened "total" participation in the PSI Initiative (which allows North Korean ships to be stopped and checked by various nations for nuclear weapons being exported) that it amounts to a "declaration of war against North Korea".
The statement was released by the North Korean military representative in Panmunjom military armistace area. He iterated that from now on, South Korean and American vessels traveling in the Yellow Sea (West Sea, just off the West Coast of North Korea), cannot be guaranteed as safe. In the statement, the names of ROK President Lee and Obama of the USA were singled out, and said they are responsible for a "furthering a war situation on the Korean peninsula". It threatened military action due to the decision by South Korea to participate full-fledged in the PSI initiative.

I suspect that you know the answer to that one, brother. I spend a fair amount of each day staying current on the news, and I haven’t heard any of our non-representing representatives from the Dem/Rep oligarchy condemn any of the bad actors in this mess. All I’ve heard is the “strongly worded statement” from the President. I hope that someone else can correct me if I’m wrong about this.
A fustercluck, to put it one way.
They are attempting it. My assessment: Their goals right now are to seize a US ship for hostage taking, and/or a shootdown of a US aircraft or JASDF aircraft off of their Eastern Coast. That is what they would want right now above anything else. They want a USS Pueblo incident.
How long before the left starts praising North Korea and damning the US again just to avoid any conflict?
Thinking that doing stuff we did in the past over and over and over re: North Korea which had no effect, will some how magically do the trick right now, this time. They are laughing in Pyongyang. Somebody said “cluster-f”, and that is exactly what they are sitting back and watching. Classic definition of “insane”. But that is pretty much how Washington D.C and US think-tanks with Korean Peninsula experts (except John Bolton) work.
Nobody at the high levels can be that stupid (hell, any J6P who follows the news and knows a bit of history knows exactly what's going on). That leads me to believe that this is all a big snow job. To what ends, I'm not exactly sure, but I bet it's some elaborate dance we are doing so as not to piss off our number one creditor.
Ohhh you would be amazed at the stupidity in Washington, particularly in the State Department and the White House, and on Capitol Hill for that matter.
“Obama is a pushover, that for sure is widely known in East Asia at this time, amongst enemies and allies alike.”
I have a funny feeling about this. I despise Obama and “enlightened” approach to foreign policy, but I believe he is smart enough to know that a show of weakness against a nuclear-armed foe will result in a one-term Presidency.
Think about how many powerful weapons he takes from the hands of his political opponents is he shows a big pair of onions when and if North Korea tests him.
He’s calculating that way. We on the right shouldn’t box ourselves into a corner by insisting we KNOW what he would do - we don’t. Even matters of war and peace are just political chips in his game - the REAL purpose of which is to socialize America.
Quite the opposite...the democrats, the MSM, and the chosen one will blame Bush. That is his SOP now. Nothing will ever be his fault.
How long? Well it started about four hours ago.
Afraid you are right and obambi will not raise a finger if and when it happens.
SOOO how are things in Japan? Folks there a little on edge what with all this going on?
Strong words from UN ambassador from US, Susan Rice, earlier on the nuke and the missiles lunched (6 at last count) - “This is unacceptable!!”
I’m guessing the N. Korean answer (if they even bother) would be ‘unacceptable to whom?’ Or just ‘so what?’. Or ‘yeah, what are going to _do_ about it? Pass another UN resolution??’ tsk tsk..
Sigh.....
That's one the problems with electing such a neophyte to his first executive office - nobody knows how he'll handle a problem like this. Kennedy almost started a nuclear war over the Bay of Pigs. We may or may not get lucky this time too.

Also appearing at this "peace" rally with the demonRat Charlie Rangel, now chairman of The House Ways and Means Committee, were Saddam Hussein lawyer, Ramsey Clark and convicted terrorist enabler/attorney, Lynne Stewart. Clark, with Workers World Party, started up that other 'peace' group, A.N.S.W.E.R. Clark also heads the International Action Center and was actually once Attorney General of the United States under democrat LBJ. -etl

There was a piece published in my local paper just yesterday by a member of an “international friendship group” (read: Communist front) that had recently held a meeting in SK. The article was about how mean and nasty the US was, and how NK had a right to have anything it wants and how we were picking on it...but the “international community” was supporting NK and working for peace and friendship.
It was a blast from the past. I felt as if I was reading something from decades ago, because the language in it was exactly like the Stalin-supporting “friendship groups” of the US left. So I’d say the left has already begun, and in fact has obviously been praising NK for awhile.
And don’t forget: now we have someone in the WH who, if he were more interested in international affairs, would probably be a member of one of these groups.

[2009] Russia, China plan new joint military exercises
By MARTIN SIEFF, UPI Senior News Analyst
Published: March 26, 2009
WASHINGTON, March 26 (UPI) -- The continuing tensions over Russia's refusal to sell its state-of-the-art land warfare advanced weapons systems to China hasn't interrupted the rhythm of major joint military exercises between the two major land powers on the Eurasian landmass. The latest in the regular, biennial series of exercises between the two nations has been confirmed for this summer.
The next in the now well-established series of exercises called Peace Mission 2009 will be carried out in northeastern China, the Russian Defense Ministry announced March 18, according to a report carried by the RIA Novosti news agency.
The first bilateral Peace Mission maneuvers -- described at the time as counter-terrorism exercises -- were held in Russia and the eastern Chinese province of Shandong in August 2005. As we reported at that time, they were a lot bigger than mere counter-terrorism exercises. Warships, squadrons of combat aircraft and more than 10,000 troops were involved carrying out landings against hypothetically hostile shores. The maneuvers also involved large-scale paratroops drops. The scale and nature of those exercises suggested a trial run for a possible Chinese invasion of Taiwan with Russian support. ..."
