We will be putting together the details of the week’s events soon. For now, this is our tentative agenda for 9-10 through 9-12.

Thursday, 9-10:
Morning: Liberty Summit with select Congressmen and Senators
Afternoon: Grassroots visits with Representatives and Senators
Evening: Time to explore Washington

Friday, 9-11:
Morning: September 11th Never Forget memorial
Afternoon: Grassroots leadership training seminars
Evening: Special Dinner

Saturday, 9-12:
8:00am Set up for stages and volunteers
10:00am Events begin at U.S. Capitol, Washington Monument and Lincoln Memorial
2:00pm March begins at Lincoln Memorial and ends at the U.S. Capitol Building

A few days ago it was announced the Florida Chapter of Free Republic would be gathering together in D.C. to attend the National Tea Party. Due to overwhelming interest all across the country, the event has now gone national

Get your plans set and join Freepers from across the U.S. for the 1^st. annual Freeper National Tea Party Convention!

• What:        Freeper National Tea Party Convention
• Where:    U.S. Capitol, Washington Monument and Lincoln Memorial March begins at Lincoln Memorial and ends at the U.S. Capitol Building
• When:     September 10-12, 2009
• R.S.V.P.: FreepMail Brytani – number of rooms, people in your party by May 31, 2009!!!!!

This event is open only to Registered Freepers, their families and friends.

I’ll be coordinating this event with the MOST appreciated help from seekthetruth. For now I (Brytani) am collecting names of those who are committed to going to D.C. with us. Once we have a realistic idea of how many Freepers are aboard, I will be contacting Hotels in D.C. to find a group or convention rate. 

We already have a few wonderful Hotels on our list and don’t want to wait until they are filled up. The plan is simple and will take only a FreepMail but time is of the essence!!! Hotels in D.C. are filling up fast!!!

Please send Brytani a FreepMail if you are going to D.C. or if you’re strongly considering attending.   For now I need your FreeperID, the number of room you will need the how many people will be in your party. If you have any questions please ask them on this thread or if you’d prefer you can FreepMail me.

During the first week of June I will announce the Hotel, room rate, address, perks etc and when and how your reservation will need to be made.

For those who are considering joining us but have not completely committed, please FreepMail as well. This will give me a better idea of how many room to inquire on.

If you are already attending please consider staying with Freepers from around the nation. You’ll have the opportunity to meet people you’ve been talking to for years and make new FRriends.

Come on everyone get on board!!! Save a bit of money! Could you ask for a better group of people to spend a weekend with?

Jean, still not 100% sure I can make the D.C. event but am 90% there... going to make concerted effort to be there. I can barely listen to the news these days.....have to take action!
Hopefully, me, my husband, my sister and nephew will be there. I will promote the event at the Republican Women’s Club meeting on Saturday.

Just a reminder to those who can not join us, remember that if things change and in late August you see your way clear to make it to DC, there might still be some convention space available. So keep that in mind. :)Jean

Quick update and major announcement!!!! We have finalized with the Sheraton National in Arlington, VA for our Tea Party Convention. I will have all the room info up this evening along with a website to the Sheraton for reservations.

Wish I could. I am helping with a tea party here on July 4th and one Tuesday in Albany.

Sounds good to me. I have reservations at a hostel in Tacoma Park, but I may be able to cough up the difference to be with the group (and get a nicer room)

Does anyone know if the Pentagon City metro stop is [practical] walking to and from this hotel? I am flying in to Reagan National & plan on walking and metro, no cabs.

BTW, my daughter says there is a good Korean restaurant right by there. That alone is almost enough for me.

Today Andrew Wilkow on his radio show gave FR a bump and talked about the convention!!

While I had to pick my rear end up off the floor, to quote Jim again “Go Andrew!!!”

Not only did he mention speaking at the convention, he tore Letterman apart and a bunch of leftists who called trying to defend Letterman’s so called joke.

Nothing like an unashamed conservative with a microphone!!
