My grandmother, who is 101, saw all three of her brothers (this must have been before Private Ryan) go off to WWII at the same time. She said they visited before the boys left and when they went back a month later, her mother’s hair had gone from brown to grey.
All three came home, but the youngest, Pat, who went up the Anzio beachhead (the other two were in Pacific theatre) didn’t live to a very old age. Pat’s twin, Ruth, is the only one of my grandmother’s siblings left alive. She’s the oldest.
Yep! I am so glad you showed up! My wife and I tried the chicken recipe you posted last week. I didn’t have Swiss but I had Provolone it turned out great!
Yeah, I suppose provolone would work. Swiss *is* better though, because it has a cheese taste. I’m glad you liked it! It’s easy, no?
My grandma has v-mail from her brothers in her cedar chest. We really ought to go through that chest one of these days.
My Father had three brothers in WWII. The one in the picture above was the youngest and was also a crear Marine. One was career Air Force and one was Navy. They all survived the wars they fought in and lived long lives. All have passed away. That GREAT GENERATION ... we need them now!
I’m not saying you can’t come to the thread,,,,,,it’s still the USA and we still have freedoms here, I figured seeing as you’re not interested in anything libertarian Beck wouldn’t be of any interest to you.
The sad thing is, the way international issues are shaping up, it’s looking like the kind of situation that could lead to a world war that shapes up as kind of “capitalism vs. communism”.
We may have a generation that is going to be forged in the fire to be great.

Didn’t realize Glenn Beck was live yesterday. Was watching baseball and enjoying time with the family. However, I was up for the replay after I saw this thread.
