I check the landing tracks to find out whether we'll hear the sonic booms. Too far north on all approaches this time.

Last shuttle mission, had front row seats for launch at KSC, and Discovery greeted us with sonic booms gliding over the house on her way home.

What time should I be looking for it over New Orleans?

They haven't decided when to land yet. It doesn't take long for it to get from New Orleans to Cape Canaveral but it hits the atmosphere right over New Orleans. Of course, it's most spectacular at night. It fills the whole sky!

We’re headed to Lakewood Ranch later this morning, for the “Salute to Our Military Heroes” bash and parade, and will probably be too far south to hear the sonic booms. That is, if they can land at KFC.

FoxNews just said that they will be unable to land in FL due to weather.

No confirmation on Edwards AFB landing, but that is probable.

I have NASA TV on and it looks like they will give a Florida landing one more try around 10am or so
