FBI, NYPD Arrest 4 in Alleged Plot to Bomb NY Synagogues

EXCLUSIVE: Four New York City men were arrested Wednesday in connection with an alleged plot to blow up New York City synagogues and other city locations, WNBC's Jonathan Dienst has learned.

Raids by the FBI-NYPD Joint Terrorist Task Force in the Bronx captured the suspected ringleader and three followers in what law enforcement sources are calling a homegrown terrorist plot.

Investigators stress the suspects' meetings had been infiltrated early on and there was "no chance" the alleged plot could succeed.

Investigators said several of the suspects are Muslims who allegedly talked about destroying two Jewish temples, including at least one in the Riverdale section of the Bronx.

The men ordered and accepted delivery of materials they believed were bomb-making ingredients, authorities said. But investigators said they made sure the materials the suspects received were inert. Officials tell WNBC they moved in now so the alleged plot could not progress any further.

The four men are in custody and are expected to be arraigned Thursday in White Plains federal court on terrorism-related counts.

The suspects - three U.S.-born citizens and one Haitian immigrant - at least three of whom were said to be jailhouse converts to Islam, were angry about the deaths of Muslims in Afghanistan, sources told The News.

"I hate those motherf-----s, those f---ing Jewish bastards. . . . I would like to get [destroy] a synagogue."

Don't worry though, the FBI has decided they should not be charged with a "Hate Crime."

Sources said their plan was to shoot down a cargo plane headed to Iraq or Afghanistan with a surface-to-air guided missile while simultaneously calling the cell phones and blowing up the Riverdale synagogues.

Among those arrested was Cromitie, of Newburgh, who is the son of an Afghan immigrant and his African-American wife. Cromitie, who also called himself Abdul Rahman, has served a long stretch in prison.

Richard Williams, who identified himself as Onta Williams' uncle, said he doesn't believe his nephew would be involved in the plot.

Four homegrown Muslim terrorists on a mission from hell were arrested last night as they planted what they thought were high-powered plastic explosives at two Bronx synagogues, authorities said.

The men were also allegedly plotting to use a Stinger missile to shoot a military plane out of the sky in upstate New York immediately after the bombings.

“This is America’s finest hour. The best resources of the Police Department, Homeland Security and the FBI kept us safe,” said Jonathan Rosenblatt, a rabbi at the targeted Riverdale Jewish Center.

He noted that some of the members had survived the Holocaust. “To see a synagogue burning would have been painful,” he said.

The jihadist wannabes — all from Newburgh, NY — began their unholy mission last night at around 9 p.m. at the Riverdale Temple on Independence Avenue, authorities said.

They planted what they thought were explosives in a parked car outside the house of worship.

One acted as a lookout, while the other three allegedly drove up the block to the Riverdale Jewish Center and planted two more bags of “explosives” in cars.

Unbeknownst to them, their explosives were duds — supplied by authorities who had been monitoring their plan for more than a year.

I was listening to a recent recording by Cincinnati talk show host Mike McConnell who was talking with an anti-"torture" caller. McConnell, who supports enhanced interrogation for certain situations, asked the caller what he'd do if a person was holding his family hostage and would kill them for certain unless rough tactics were used on a member of the terrorist group. The guy responded that he still wouldn't use "torture" even if it meant the death of his family. Or even large numbers of people.

McConnell called him immoral for letting his family and large numbers of people die for his mistaken beliefs. And he told the guy to go tell his family what he would do for them in case the above situation occurred. Tbe guy cheerfully agreed to do so. These are the kind of idiots we have in this country.

Your NY Post article would be more accurate to state they're converts to islam, however they do put the muslim aspect front and center in the first sentence, so kudos to them.

The arabist-loving Aye Pee forces their readers to draw conclusion to the perps being muslim saying one of them was angry about the war and alleged mistreatment and murder of muslims by US forces. Offered as justification for the plot, no doubt. And refusing to print they are muslim converts.
