Thank you, Father Jenkins, for that generous introduction. You are doing an outstanding job as president of this fine institution, and your continued and courageous commitment to honest, thoughtful dialogue is an inspiration to us all.

NOTRE DAME WELCOMES PRES_ _ ENT 0BAMA (no ‘ID’)

LOL -- I've seen people writing his name like this before, but I thought it was because he used to always vote "Present." I like the "No ID" reason too!

Empty speech, empty suit.

I skimmed it-—you have it right for everything he does and says: empty and vacuous. He is the ultimate post modern creature, the organization man, the superfluous superficial chameleon.

I support a BAN on any sitting President to speak at graduations unless it is one of the service academies.

I saw Obama at Notre Dame. I had to run away to the bell, and scream "Sanctuary, sanctuary!!!"

I couldn’t get myself to read it all either, but it seemed to me to be long, boring, and pretty much empty of meaning.

If there’s a message, it seems to be—”Be multicultural. Don’t have any values of your own so you won’t conflict with other peoples’ values. Buddhism and Hinduism are just as good as Christianity, and although I can’t say it clearly, Islam is the BEST!”

“And, by the way, just because I am using taxpayer money to pay for as many abortions as possible all over the world, and just because I have repeatedly voted for abortion every chance I get, doesn’t mean that I’m not just as nice as you are!”

From an AP article: "“There’s a case for people being upset, maybe,” said anti-abortion graduate Connor Nowalk, 21, who voted for Obama. “But they’re taking what should be a celebration for us as graduates and turning it into a circus.”

Graduate Ryan Oakley, 22, who also said he is anti-abortion and voted for Obama, said abortion is a big issue in the Catholic Church, “but it’s not what defines Obama.”

“I’m very happy with what he’s going to do with the rest of the world,” he said."

Hitler had his faults, but he loved dogs and had good taste in food. Sometimes you have to look at the whole man. /sarcasm

Why do people send their kids to a university if they are too stupid to read or think?

Shame, shame, shame. You have twisted the minds of youth towards an avenue of deciet and a wrong which may take decades to undo.

Not surprising that that post profanes any religious event.

Obama’s Notre Dame speech was the work of the devil. He is the anti-Christ and I am about to throw up. One result of this slap in the face to Catholics by Fr. Jenkins AND Obama is that the institution will suffer greatly financially.
Sad, but this has happened already.

I am truly afraid of this man that has become our PRESIDENT!

More like the Catholic Church needs to eliminate Notre Dame from the list of “Catholic” Institutions, and defrock Fr. Jenkins, and start excommunicating those who believe abortion is NOT a mortal sin!

And, it’s not just PARTIAL BIRTH abortion — Obama believes the baby should die if it’s accidently born “all the way” during an abortion procedure and is BORN ALIVE — the baby is then left to die in some garbage can, or in some supply closet (according to testimony of nurses that can be HOURS LATER).

How does each of us remain firm in our principles, and fight for what we consider right, without, as Father John said, demonizing those with just as strongly held convictions on the other side?

This part was left out? "Well we won and the other side did not. We declare them to be terrorists and a threat to our state. . . ."

[Y]ou will be exposed to more opinions and ideas broadcast through more means of communication than ever existed before. You'll hear talking heads scream on cable, and you'll read blogs that claim definitive knowledge, and you will watch politicians pretend they know what they're talking about.

Gee, no mention of talk radio.. I wonder what that means.

Most of you have lived the law of love through the service you've performed at schools and hospitals; international relief agencies and local charities . . . That's incredibly impressive, a powerful testament to this institution. Now you must carry the tradition forward. Make it a way of life.

His wife also urged public service upon the graduates she spoke to.

If the Obamas want everyone to become Alinsky street rabble who's going to pay taxes?

you said what I want to say much more elegantly.

I see TOTUS covered the same material as the previous speaker again. Sounds at least a tad arrogant, I'd say!
