"Fr. Norm" - 80-Year-Old Priest Arrsted, Jailed at Notre Dame
YouTube ^ | May 16, 2009 | Pass the Salt

Here is the video of Fr. Norm Weslin's arrest by University of Notre Dame police. He was carrying a cross and singing a hymn in honor of the mother of Jesus Christ ---"Our Lady" -- "Notre Dame."

What evil deed did they think he was going to do if they didn't arrest him: launch a devastatng, full-scale Rosary barrage?

“And no matter how many times I watch it, the count is still 792.”

Still 792. Youtube apparently doesn't want the count to rise. They must have an interest in it not reaching a most viewed status.

What illegal act did he commit?

I'm not sure. Near as I can tell, he demonstrated a slight degree of displeasure over an appearance by Barack Hussein Obama, a politician. He did so in public. Apparantly this can get you arrested now.

Just one thing surfer, could you please refer to those protesting as Pro-Life and not Anti-Choice.

All faiths (except one maybe) are outraged by this!

I fear you are very, very wrong. Just yesterday it came to light that the Methodist church here in Iowa has invited Jeremiah Wright to speak at an AWARD banquet.

When I called the number listed and asked the man who answered if he agrees with Jeremiah Wright that God should damn America, he said that he does agree with Wright.

Today's churches are a very large part of our problem.

And they’d still show up at the rail. How come they never seem to be challeneged there?

I read yesterday that those arrested will be held in jail over the weekend. I assume that is to ensure they won’t participate in protest activities against the Fuehrer over the weekend.

And if something unfortunate were to happen to them in jail, say, in the course of an encounter with another inmate, well, that's too bad, isn't it, but they made their bed. Right, Reverend Jenkins?

By the way, what are you revered for, you sanctimonious piece of excrement?

Can you please tell me what the difference between the two is? I would certainly describe myself as Pro Life AND Anti Choice.

People are not free to choose to commit murder. I would oppose any law change that would provide them with that choice. That would make me Anti Choice if one of the choices includes the right to commit murder.

I can’t see how the Abortion issue could boil down any differently. Abortion IS Murder.

As I was watching this spectacle on FOX, I kept asking why were they arresting these people? They weren't harming anyone and clearly were no threats.

Were there restraining orders? What was this about? Pictures are powerful things.

I hope these cops can look back at this low point in their careers and sooth their conscience with the the phrase “I was only following orders.”

This is excessive use of force. And for what practical purpose? How was the peace or civility of the community threatened by a priest praying on the sidewalk.

The police may have been a “lawful order” but it was not a moral one. I wish at least one officer had refused to participate in a public way. He would have the support of me.

The University of Notre Dame seeks to be a preeminent research university with a distinctive Catholic character...

The above words were taken from the website of Notre Dame, specifically, the Provost's home page.

I guess now we know just how "distinctive" that Catholic character is.

You know, I always thought those stories about the supposed "agreement" between Adolf Hitler and Pope Pius XII were disgusting slander of the worst kind, a blood libel for the ages.

Now, I'm really not so sure.

When they first arrested Keyes the cop said it was for trespassing on private property.

Aparently, Notre Dame now considers people who are trying to uphold Catholic doctrine “trespassers.”

It also is our fault for our apathy, lack of courage,
and not acting on the firm conviction that killing innocents no matter their gestational age is evil and violates our Declaration of Independence.

I hope many freepers who live in the area of this travesty will answer the call and stand in solidarity with this beloved priest who was jailed and hurt during arrests many times during the 1980’s Rescue Movement.

The Civil Rights Movement for Children in the Womb which was thoroughly squashed by the Clinton Administration, Reno and Holder’s Justice Department and the courts by imposing long sentences, huge fines, and felony charges to family people who merely laid down on the ground — and prayed while they blocked the abortion industry’s killing center doors.

The new ObamaHealthcare will ration medical procedures by age, promote assisted suicide, and then euthanasia while using our money to fund the above.

The lives we save today may be our own!!

As Father Weslin constantly asks:

“Why would you put a Catholic priest in jail for trying to stop the killing?”

Our Lady, pray for us.

Die, I guess I prefer the phrase Pro-Life because of something I heard Mother Teresa say once.

She was asked if she would be willing to march in an antiwar protest.

She told them, "No but if you have a Pro-Peace March I would be willing to join you."

Technically of course you are correct but I would rather be associated with something I can say I support, in a positive manner.

I want to define what I support not have other define it for me.

they twisted this 80 year old man’s arms in back as if he were a street hood.

Who are they? Does anyone have the names of these officers?

Hard to explain...they are both groups within the Catholic church, the Jesuits as an order, the CSC as a congregation. Bascially, they both have different focuses and approaches in completing God’s work. If you want me to get into more detail than that, let me know.
