Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger will direct his administration to send 5,000 layoff notices to state workers Friday, according to a source familiar with the governor's budget plan.

The 5,000 are part of the 20,000 plus workers that had received warnings earlier in the year.
Wonder if they will be part of the 95,000 SEIU cubicle clowns?

Yeah, sure he is. This translates to: "Schwarzenegger to eliminate 4,900 phantom positions and give another 1,000 who are near retirement anyway a going-away present in the form of a lucrative severance package."
Believe me - - governments don't actually lay off "workers".

Now there’s a wise man. If it does come to pass, we can expect these folks to come from one of two groups.
1. They will be from public service sectors that are important to the state’s children or the safety of the public
2. They will be from groups who never saw their ranks blossom during the time that the state budget doubled over the last ten years
All the leftist infrastructure will remain in tact.
And when all is said and done, Conservatives will be blamed for bringing this on the state, read that failing to vote for props 1A to 1F.
Usually they just get transferred to some other 'job'.
Believe me, the Federal government could certainly trim their 'workforce' by firing all the 'employees' in the IRS! Most of them are as stupid as a tree and that is insulting to trees! And, they are much more arrogant just like Obama
