In early April, Vice President Biden was asked if the administration was concerned that Israel might strike at Iran’s nuclear facilities. “I don’t believe Prime Minister Netanyahu would do that,” Mr. Biden replied. “I think he would be ill-advised to do that.”
A few weeks later, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton explained the administration’s solution to the threat of an Iranian bomb: “For Israel to get the kind of strong support it’s looking for vis-à-vis Iran it can’t stay on the sideline with respect to the Palestinians and the peace efforts . . . they go hand-in-hand.”
And on May 10, National Security Advisor James Jones spelled it out further. “We understand Israel’s preoccupation with Iran as an existential threat. We agree with that. . . . By the same token, there are a lot of things that you can do to diminish that existential threat by working hard towards achieving a two-state solution.”
By what reasoning has the administration decided that pushing Israel to permit a new Palestinian state would — in any way — diminish the threat from Iran? Do they believe that Iran’s (or, I should say, the Iranian leadership’s) genocidal hostility toward Israel is the result of lack of progress toward an independent Palestinian state in the West Bank and Gaza? Will the Iranian leadership, which has characterized Israel as a “cancerous tumor,” declared that “Israel must we wiped off the map,” and promised that “Israel is destined for destruction and will soon disappear,” change its mind if Israel enters into negotiations with the Palestinians?
“Obama will be a great friend to Israel.” So said a Jewish Democrat in a pre-election debate with me.

1. Obama has created a cult of personality evocative of those surrounding dictators like Peron, Hitler, Stalin, and Il Duce.
2. There is, seemingly, no firearms ammunition to be found.
3. Down is up and up is down in foreign affairs. Obama is literally p*ssing on America's natural allies. To wit, the other English speaking democracies, the UK, Canada, and Australia.
4. Another long term strategic ally, and the only democracy in the mid-east is literally being abandoned while Obama tries to get friendly with the zealots who run Iran. To what purpose?
5. The markets and the economy have not been in this much turmoil since the 1930's. Obama's policies are setting up a massive inflation or the possible bankruptcy of the USA.
6. All the wrong moves are being made vis a vis foreign hotspots: Iran, Iraq, North Korea, pirates in Somolia.
None of this is good.
Only a fool believes that. The only thing that will satisfy Israels enemies is the destruction of Israel, as their enemies have made clear for decades. There is no linkage between Iran's behavior and what Israel does or does not do re: the Palestinians. Iran has been calling for Israel's destruction since Carter helped Khomeini return to Iran in the late 1970s.
Its his signal to the US too... witness the OBowMa bow to the Saudi king.
Talk about delusional. I still can't imagine what would have impelled anybody to think anything remotely like this.
The Jews and the Catholics who voted for this man, this avowed enemy and destroyer of their respective faiths, have a serious piece of self-examination work to do. Not that will do the them or the rest of us much good. The damage is done. There was no mystery at all about what 0bama stood for, none. I hope we have something resembling our Constitutionally-based Republic left after he and his goons are done. I know I’m not making any big revelation saying I have serious doubts in that department.
So what’s the message here? Allow the creation of a Palestinian state or we will allow Iran to obliterate you?

It's the "D" next to Obama's name. There are way too many Jews who are addicted to supporting 'Rat candidates, so they try to rationalize what is otherwise irrational, just as other types of addicts do. This addiction holds more for Jewish women than Jewish men, although both sexes are afflicted.
