What a Future Ex-Democrat Looks Like
American Spectator ^ | May 12, 2009 | Robert Stacy McCain

Back in November, I predicted: "The yawning gap between Hope and reality will produce a bumper crop of ex-Democrats." Yet the crop had already been sowed and, at The American Thinker, ex-Democrat "Robin" explains that her conversion began more than a year ago:

As Mr. Hopey Changey runs the economy into the ground, I think you will find alot of buyer’s remorse.

Oh yeah, what the GOP needs are more people who feel that the Dems go just a tad too far in their approach....these people are still left of the current RINOs are are part of the GOPs problem, not the solution.

We don’t need any more RINO ex-rats (how can they be anything but a RINO if they were a rat?). Specter anyone? What we need is a lot more Ex(RINO)-Republicans. Let the rats have them. Start with Powell and Steele, add in the two Maine snow queens and clean house from there.

Ugh. Stay away. Look what happened to the Republican party after the last exodus of disaffected Democrats in 1994-95.

Since Nov 8, the Orange Co. NC GOP has seen over 100 Democrats and Independents switch their registration to the GOP.

Obama got elected largely because of white guilt on the part of the non-ideological, apolitical "mushy middle". This means his favorability foundation is tenuous at best.

A few in my circle of friends who voted for him are being very quiet, not really interested in talking politics. He's embarrassing them, pure and simple. His support is a house of cards, and will tumble soon.

Yeah, but unlike last time, after we catch ‘em, we have to educate ‘em...The mid to late 90’s was right around when the national party left conservative principles behind and got to like DC a little too much.

Non-sequitur. You don't seem to realise that many of these ex-Democrats are ex-Democrats because they were conservative "my-great-great-great-grandaddy-wuz-a-Democrat-so-I-iz-too" type folks who finally couldn't take it anymore.

In the immortal words of Col. Shermon Potter of the 144th Mobile Army Surgery Hospital. “HORSEHOCKEY”

Them Democrats, like their Republican counterparts love one thing more than money, family, country or even God. They love POWER. Now that they have the power back after 16 years of being on the outside, they ain't gonna surrender it by switching parties or voting “independent”
With a filibuster proof Senate, huge majority in the House, the Presidency and soon to be liberal majority on the Supreme Court they probably will control the U.S. (or whats left of it) for the next 50 to 100 years.

Also Majority of the media covered for him and never did any negative reporting on him. He is still fawned over by the media. It truly is disgusting.

True, but let's face it - this is at least partly the fault of conservatives because WE fell asleep at the wheel, didn't hold their feet to the fire, and let it happen. It's easy to blame the politicians in Washington. It's harder to admit that we bear part of the blame, and got the government we signalled that we wanted.

I overheard a conversation between an African American grocery clerk and a white customer while waiting in line a couple of months ago. The customer was all for Obama and the clerk was uneasy about him. The clerk said she didn’t like Bush all that much, but she was liking what Obama was doing even less. She didn’t go into specifics, but she said that she was willing to give him a chance to improve since he had only been in office a short time.

I didn’t talk to her about politics when my turn came up. I figured I really didn’t need to since she seemed to be paying more attention to him than most. I’m not sure what the general concenus is among his implied african american base, but if this clerk is any example of it, he’s in some trouble.

I get the impression that a lot of people in the "mushy middle" voted for Obama because they it would be cool to have a black president and to show that they weren't bigots. These people weren't really paying attention to Obama's views or his radical background and association with radicals. Now they are surprised at how far left Obama is.

It will never be publicly acknowledged by the left if they fall out of love with their messiah.

You are a buffoon. I am not a fan of Sphincter, but in an article that speaks about democrat second thoughts about who they voted for, the first words out of you are to start a purge.

In fact, I think your a democrat troll, an agent provacatuer.

Sowing the seeds of discord.
