Yeah, but unlike last time, after we catch ‘em, we have to educate ‘em...The mid to late 90’s was right around when the national party left conservative principles behind and got to like DC a little too much.

Ugh. Stay away. Look what happened to the Republican party after the last exodus of disaffected Democrats in 1994-95.

True, but let's face it - this is at least partly the fault of conservatives because WE fell asleep at the wheel, didn't hold their feet to the fire, and let it happen. It's easy to blame the politicians in Washington. It's harder to admit that we bear part of the blame, and got the government we signalled that we wanted.
