....in the wake of the incredibly stupid photo op flyover Lower Manhattan, Obama accepted the resignation of Louis Caldera, WH Military Office director (former secy of the Army). As government foul-ups go, this one was pretty monumental. ....the incident cost taxpayers $357,00 and panicked 1000's of New Yorkers haunted by 9/11.......but who came up with the nutty idea? The Pentagon is undertaking a review -- Deputy White House COS Jim Messina says he didn't know until the flyover had taken place......where should the buck stop? Alas, that remains a mystery.

You know now that will never been shown and Lucas is scrambling to rewrite the script.
They should carve more of that mountain, it’s really ugly. Looks like a section of the Elephant Man.
“....in the wake of the incredibly stupid photo op flyover Lower Manhattan, Obama accepted the resignation of Louis Caldera”
This dude is taking one for the team, he’s a sacrificial lamb and will be taken care of. There’s more to this story.
If what you say is true, and I have no real idea, where were all the movie cameras?
I guess you haven't been there. There's nothing ugly about it (leaving aside an honoree or two maybe).

Air Force One is the equivalent of a national military command post, The POTUS could conduct a nuclear war from on board. If the primary was disabled the POTUS is supposed to be able to rapidly get aboard the backup to ensure US leadership survival.
Now
Who had (has?) the authority to order this strategic military asset into the air for a joyride?
where should the buck stop? This is obviously .. BUSH'S Fault!
When Dubya handed over the keys to Barry, Bush told the Kenyan that as POTUS he could use Air Force One for 'anything' he wants. So we can't blame Obama that Bush didn't clarify what 'anything' meant.
After all, Obama is new on the job and has a lot of important stuff on his mind like 'healtcare' and 'middle class tax cuts'. So this has to be Bush-hitler's fault, he should have told Obama the "Do's and Don'ts' of being president.
The above will likely appear on DU, Kos or the Huffie Post later today.
Maybe if you had to take the fall for your boss like that, you wouldn't want to apologize either.
It will be interesting to see where Caldera gets his next employment and who "arranges" it.
Those @#@#&&***%% "judgemental" Republicans.
LOL-—good one.
My guess is that the AF1/F-16 Red Tail flyby was meant to be shown at the end of the movie.
Voiceover: “In 1944, the brave Tuskegee Airmen of the Red Tail Squadron broke one color barrier. 65 years later, with the election of President Barack Obama, the final color line was broken.”
Something like that. That’s why Obama was so pissed by this fiasco. Now they can’t use it.
The red tail F-16 in the picture was part OF the picture. It was too close and not positioned to film AF1.
The filming platform was further out, probably just a dot in the sky. Predators, for example, film the ground close up from above 4 miles of altitude.
I’m not sure about the filming platform, I’m just guessing. But it might have been more than a mile away, to catch both planes and the NYC panorama.
You're right. Just as the movie "Red Tails" will be about the Tuskegee Airmen flying close protective support for the WW2 bombers, this shot of Red Tails flying close support of AF1 would have blended into the movie's theme. Now that can't use the shot, because too many questions will be raised over whether the producers adequately paid for use of government resources for commercial gain.
I’d be willing to bet a couple pints of Guinness that there were Hollywood donors on board. Where was Michelle Obama that day? Will we ever hear????
Spot on Analysis!
“Obama joked that his kids were on it. How about telling us who was really on it.”
That probably was the truth.
ha!
Give ‘im he!!, Phil !!
Pick any of. 100 rows of the 747. Windows and the back seats of both F16D ‘s ......silly question.
