Unlike Romney's "National Council for a New America," Free Republic is a conservative site!
Refer to Romney's Council for a New American Socialist State formed in HIS Image ^ | May 2, 2009 | Jim Robinson

I'm going to try one more time to explain what FR is all about.

Free Republic is a conservative site. That does not necessarily mean it is a Republican site. In fact there may be many Republicans we don't support and some Republican issues we cannot agree with.

I'll throw in Arlen Specter as a prime example of a Republican we cannot support. Should be obvious to all why not. Should also be just as obvious to all that we cannot support Olympia Snowe, Susan Collins, John McCain and his lap dog Lindsay Graham, Rudy Giuliani, Mitt Romney, et al.

Some of the issues we cannot support as conservatives even though sometimes initiated by so-called Republicans include TARP, or any kind of government bailout of private enterprise, federal intrusion into free markets, federalized education systems, government provided or controlled health care systems, abortion, gay marriage, amnesty, global warming, gun control, etc.

I guess there is more than one definition of conservatism floating around out there, and this won't be text book, but the one we use involves defending, preserving and protecting our constitution, our unalienable rights, our traditional family values, our American heritage, our nation, our borders and our sovereignty.

We aggressively defend our rights to Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness!

We aggressively defend our rights to freedom of religion, freedom of speech, freedom of assembly, freedom to keep and bear arms, right to due process, right to equality under the law, right to be governed under the rule of law, right to constitutionally limited government, right to corruption free government, right to self-government and our private property rights, etc.

We also aggressively defend our right to state and local government for all issues not expressly delegated to the central government by the constitution.

We aggressively defend our rights to free markets and our rights to live our lives free of government intrusion, interference, coercion, force, or abuse of any kind.

We aggressively defend our rights to national sovereignty, state sovereignty and individual sovereignty!

And this definition also includes aggressively fighting against all enemies foreign and domestic who may try to deprive us of our rights or sovereignty. This would obviously include all foreign enemies, but also we defend against RINOS, Democrats, liberals, socialists, Marxists, communists, militant feminists or homosexualists, radical environmentalists, etc, etc, etc.

And we expect our elected representatives to also aggressively defend our rights and fight against all enemies foreign and domestic. We do not elect people and send them to DC or our state capitals, etc, to reach across the aisles or to be bipartisan or to negotiate or compromise away our rights. If you're not going to aggressively fight for us, and for our rights, STAY OUT!!

We bow to no king but God!

Our God-given unalienable rights are NOT negotiable!

Do NOT Tread on US!

Thank you very much!

I’m interested in that golf tournament event you do. We have a lot of golfers in our club, a number who belong to the local CC. Since the Brat Booth event is late August, I’m wondering...

Amen, JimRob!

In this time of disarray and burden, now is the time to firm up the shining core of values, and rebuild from there.

Mushmouths and traitors need not apply.

He has no health insurance so he must pay additional taxes. Did I understand you correctly?

The posters son didn't conform to the law about having healthcare, so he had to pay a fine for not following the law, plain and simple, there were plenty of warnings about having healthcare and there are plenty of programs here in MA for people who have limited income or no income, there is no excuse for not having healthcare here in MA. I am not a fan of everyone must have healthcare, but that is the law here in MA and if you don't conform you get fined plain and simple. The posters son didn't bother to follow the law so he got fined.

Jim, I know that in the past you have supported Keyes.

Do you now?

Perhaps you are not ready to answer that question???

Just to be clear, I think Keyes is unacceptable.

I’m happy to be amusing you, but will offer a couple points.

I stood pretty much alone in my objections to Bush, but as it turns out, he was a long term disaster for conservatism and for Liberty just as I thought he would be. His socialist big government, big spending ways and his push for amnesty damn near destroyed the Reagan coalition, and his panicky last minute push for the corrupt unconstitutional socialist TARP program and support of same by RINO McCain sealed HIS fate and made the deal for Obama to waltz into the White House.

And I’m no longer standing alone. FR’s rebellion against Rudy bore fruit and helped torpedo that RINO’s chances of ever sitting at Reagan’s desk.

And today we have a growing million strong TEA Party army rebelling against further government encroachment and big government, big spending, high taxing socialism and socialist causes.

Romney is busy trying to remake the GOP into democrat/socialist lite at the same time we the people are rebelling against it. Good luck with that.

Free Republic is no longer alone. We will be rising up against government overstepping along with hundreds of other grassroots groups and millions of fed up members of the voting public, regardless of party. Romney represents the status quo. The continued corrupt, big government expansion that we’re rebelling against. He is the domestic enemy. He is the enemy within the gates.

The TEA Party Rebellion is a rebellion against the Slick Willard Romney type politicians.

The GOP ignores us at their own peril!

I don't think Palin or anyone else will be ever elected again. Our elections have become more of a show piece. Election fraud, I thought was at it highest in order to get Clinton in office. Many reports of election fraud and not a damn thing done about it, The Clintons walked into the White House. not a vote was needed. When Bush ran for President most Americans were well aware of what was going on and they wanted their voted counted. The Rats tried hard to steal that election, they didn't get away with it but they did try to keep them from getting into the White House before they could as mush damaged to the White House and this country.
The days of prohibition are back, not white lighting and bullets but corporations and germ warfare, the swine flu.
The trips to Mexico by non other than Hitlary herself and obozo. The swine flu is just a test to see just how much fight America has in her. TAKE A GOOD LOOK NOT MUCH.
THE BOARDERS SHOULD HAVE BEEN CLOSED BY THE OUT CRY OF AMERICANS, NO SUCH LUCK. A THUNDERING ROAR FOR THE CORUPTION TO BE REMOVED FROM OUR GOVERNMENT, NO SUCH LUCK.
THE VERY PEOPLE THAT CREATED THIS MESS IS STILL HOLDING ON TO THEIR SEATS. WHY?
Emanual comes from the same cut of the clothe that Capone and the other thugs came from.
The criminals own the justice dept, the courts, the government.
How many thousands or millions of people must die in order for America to fight back.
WHAT IS BEING DONE TO THIS COUNTRY IS CALLED TREASON AND THEY ALL KNOW IT.
THE SWINE FLU TODAY, WHAT DO THEY HAVE IN STORE FOR US FOR TOMORROW?

You’re not listening.

On the contrary. I was listening loud and clear back in November when both the R and D tickets were headed by big government socialists. So I voted for somebody else.

"No, because, thankfully it still IS a free Republic. "

What!??? I assume that you simply mean that freedom still reigns here on FreeRepublic.

You certainly cannot mean that we all "still" live in a "free Republic". That would be an absurdly naive statement.

The former Constitutional Republic began to die about 95-years ago and ceased to exist several decades ago.

Yep. I warned him a year ago.

But is this the way we want to go?
Extra taxes for having firearms?
Extra taxes for not volunteering for national service?
Extra taxes for eating spare ribs?

"...Obama has been a media darling since 2004, but prior to that NOBODY had heard of him"

Yet another reason to overthrow the liberal media mavens and their RINO syncophants...I wonder how well his approval ratings would be if he got 10% of the grilling GWB or RWR received.

I have basically sworn off all nation network news (except Fox on ocassion)and since I am trying to keep my blood pressure in check I don't read the NYTIMES, BOSTON GLOBE, WASHINGTONPOST et al. Between FR and the rest of the net I am still far more better informed than my peers who continue to be addicted to media take junk food
