After a lifetime of public service and a painful illness, Jack Kemp has died.
Our prayers are with his family.
He was a man who walked the walk and not just talked the talk. as someone of mixed race, I really appreciate more conservatives who are not afraid to speak to minorities about why liberal policies have failed minorities so much. Dont think its all for naught.
Sad....I was in my early 20’s when Kemp was with Reagan. Kemp-Roth and enterprise zones. He had a good heart and a good mind. RIP Jack.....and say hello to Ron for us.
RIP..Godspeed
Reagan almost picked Gerald Ford as VP in 1980. Hard to believe now.
May G-d rest your soul, Jack, and comfort your family. Thank you for serving your country for so long, and for being a steadfast ally and defender of President Reagan.
I loved Jack Kemp. He was a godfather of the supply side revolution. He worked indefatigably to educate the public on the connection between low tax rates, prosperity for everyone, and relief for the poor. He was passionate about reaching out, as a conservative and free market thinker, to African Americans, and in offering economic programs that would genuinely uplift. That's a big legacy for one man.
Jack Kemp was a great American. He will be missed deeply.
Dear Jeff & Stacey: If you should pass this way, I hope you’ll see the outpouring of care for your family. I know you (and the grandboys) must be sad. However, I also know you know he is present with the LORD this day - and no longer suffering.
When the roll is called up yonder, we’ll all be re-united.
AGYG
Rest in Peace.
IT was easy to see he was a good man, a good family man and father.
Thanks, g_w. I’m so sorry to hear this. He’s been an important public figure my whole adult life. I first saw him when I was a college freshman!
:-(
May God comfort his family and friends. A patriot and Great American!
We are grateful for his long service to conservative causes.
We’ve lost one of the best today. RIP, Jack as you glory in His presence forever!
Goodbye, Mr. Kemp. You belonged to a rare breed of respectable politicians, and demonstrated honesty, humility, decency and conservative values. You will be missed.
What a great American. Truly a great American. He is the man who took Laffer’s economic ideas and built it into a winning formula for Ronald Reagan and America.
Transformed our nation giving us prosperity that Europe can only dream of.
His loss at this time is a loss for all of America. God bless Jack Kemp and his family.
We owe him so much.
RIP, Jack.
Prayers up!
A big shame. Seemed like a good, kind man.
What most elected Republicans today lack in their hearts, Jack Kemp had in spades: passion. He was a fighter by nature and a lover of big ideas. That he inspired many more people out of uniform than he ever did in it is not to dismiss his skills as a quarterback, but to compliment his abilities as a motivator and as a creative thinker.
At a time when America needs more like him, we now have one less.
Godspeed, Jack Kemp.
Great Story. Somebody should have boxed Jim Baker’s New World order ears a long time ago. Jack Kemp, Lithuania is now free, and so are you. God Bless you and your house.
During our break, he came over to say hello and we asked him about the “ideas” he was talking about. He sat there with us, through the whole break, and went through, what we now know as, supply-side economics AND he graciously responded to all our remarks and questions.
It was such a privilege for me to meet and talk with him.
Thank you Jack for being a “Great American.”
Sleep well Jack. Godspeed.
