How many of these Catholics attend church at least twice a year?

Ding, ding we have a winner. Pelosi Catholics, like NE Secular Jews who identify their religion simply in a cultural context. Like being Ukrainian or Nigerian. Those 70% Catholic voters are like Carmela Soprano, want to beat their chest at funerals, wear 18k gold crucifixes, get cross tattoos. But actually living a Christian, principled, moral and upstanding life...Hey don't judge me buddy!

Sadly, it’s not BS. I haven’t spoken to my brother in law since the election. I may punch him in the face if forced to be around him.

I don’t get the Jews at ALL. What in the world is going on with them? It's all in the definition of "Jewish" in these polls. It's self-identified and specifically includes "ethnic" or "social" Jews. These folks are often not "Jewish" under "Jewish" law or even by Reform religious practice.

They have ZERO love for Israel, as Israel is a place where nutty people (like me) go to live because they are nutty religious people. Maybe send the kids there for summer camp, but that's it.

In short, they don't care a whit about Israel.

So, what is left? They're urban, not Christian (and taught to be distrustful of Christians in their liberal schools), and had parents who were probably borderline socialists, if not communists.

And vote accordingly.

The voting habits of Israeli Americans is in direct contrast to their domestic counterparts.

Seeing them reference their other biased poll to defend these results indicates it is a deliberate deception, not “accidental” poor polling sample.

“...if the Catholics I know were even half as devoted as the ones I meet here on FR, then things would be much better...”

That must be true. Every Catholic I know just loves 0bama, and when I mention his position on abortion to them, they just change the subject. FReeper Catholics, however, seem adamantly pro-life.

Yes, but their history runs a bit further back in time.

And to be clear, there is nothing anti Semitic in the statement nor in me, it is just a statement of historical fact.

Anyone who goes to church and approves of Obama is uninformed. I actually know some of those people.

I know and that’s why I give all you in the trenches my sincerest prayers to stay focused and remain courageous. I really think we are in a huge spiritual battle. Of course, the Bible has told us that we are fighting against principalities and powers in the heavenly realm. These things only prove that more strongly than ever.

Blessings!

Here are some election statistics. Presidential elections, 1972 to 2008.

Anybody seriously interested in Presidential politics should study them.

Then, it’s just a HUGE 30% who are protesting Notre Dame.

Other surveys have shown that Catholics are the least devout of any Christian group, so this isn’t surprising. Just because we don’t like the results doesn’t mean the survey is flawed. People cried “propaganda” a lot before the presidential election too, and look what happened.

Weekly Average = 70% Catholic Approval

Must have polled just Notre Dame administrators.

LOL! Good one! But if that were so wouldn't the approval rating be 100%?

Oh, I didn’t take it as anti-Semitic at all. I look at the entire Old Testament as a story of God giving to the Jews and them whining and kvetching and turning their backs on God; then He forgives and restores them and then, eventually, they go back to their whining, kvetching and so on. Like I said, they are a good example of all of us and how we are so ungrateful so often.

Jews have always voted Democrat, and they will continue to do so until the Democrats’ do-nothing policies put Israel under attack.

Why do you think it will end then?

I’m sure he wasn’t the only one, but many are deceived by the “angel of light” and I really think Obama is in his camp.

I don't think it is propaganda.

I am not Roman Catholic (Jewish, in fact).

Roman Catholicism, like Judaism, is not only a religion, but is also a social identity.

Ergo, a cradle Roman Catholic may never go to mass and may or may not think one second about G-d and may completley think the Pope is an idiot, but still calls themselves "Roman Catholic" (witness: Nancy Pelosi, John Kerry, Ted Kennedy).

Same with self-described Jewish people --- may not go to Shul, ignore all the holidays and Law, never not worked on Shabbos, but still call themselves "Jewish." (witness Ruth Bader Ginsburg who, first thing at the Supreme Court, hammered up her Mezuzah case (goes on the door) and didn't know it was supposed to have the Shema scroll inside it.)

Protestant religions, in contrast, are just religions. When they become apostate, they call themselves "atheist" or "agnostic."

Was that clear?
