I don’t get the Jews at ALL. What in the world is going on with them? It's all in the definition of "Jewish" in these polls. It's self-identified and specifically includes "ethnic" or "social" Jews. These folks are often not "Jewish" under "Jewish" law or even by Reform religious practice.

They have ZERO love for Israel, as Israel is a place where nutty people (like me) go to live because they are nutty religious people. Maybe send the kids there for summer camp, but that's it.

In short, they don't care a whit about Israel.

So, what is left? They're urban, not Christian (and taught to be distrustful of Christians in their liberal schools), and had parents who were probably borderline socialists, if not communists.

And vote accordingly.

The voting habits of Israeli Americans is in direct contrast to their domestic counterparts.

Very true, MWT, but there are also very pious Orthodox Jews who are "yellow dog Democrats" (just like there are still "yellow dog Democrats" among white Southerners).

I've long wondered at the multigenerational hold the DP has on its adherents. It's more like a cult than a political party.

That explains a lot. I had no idea. I thought they loved Israel and cared about what happened to it. If they don't care what happens to Israel, then I guess I expect them to love Obama. Since he is hell-bent (literally) on her destruction. Sad...
