Moving quickly to release Chinese Uighur terrorists into the United States, Obama administration officials have -- for the second time -- overridden objections of federal agencies responsible for national security.
The first time -- as I reported on April 20 -- the White House overrode the inter-agency panel it created from all the national security agencies to review all the cases of the Guantanamo Bay prisoners. That panel found that the seventeen Uighurs -- members of the East Turkestan Islamic Movement captured at an al-Queda training camp in Pakistan -- were too dangerous to release in the United States.

Sad commentary isn’t it? I went through it once with the Khomeini revolting events in Iran where again populace ignorance prevailed and a nation suffered.
That so many have fought and died, for this?...
Meekie, I never watched Nick Berg’s beheading. Hearing it was enough to convince me radical islam is E=V=I=L and psychopathic.
At FreeRepublic, we often speak of liberals and conservatives. Perhaps a better distinction is between those who are indoctrinated with the latest message (liberals), and those who are not (AKA conservatives). As I talk with conservatives, many share my values, but many do not. Some conservatives that I know (also Bill O’Reilly whom we many of us know) are merely old time liberals who do not fully buy into the new liberalism.
I imagine it was the same during the rise of Hitler. There were many who fell in with the most fashionable indoctrinated views, which Hitler accepted, then shaped further. There may have been a hodgepodge of people who did not look forward to the next "change." This could include those who were deeply religious. Since they already followed a Messiah, they would not be swayed by a new one. It could include those who were deeply immersed in a larger, stable view of western civilization. Anyone with fixed standards might be able to resist the new standards of tomorrow.
Many are ready to follow Obama and the New York Times, etc, wherever they may go. Many were ready to follow Hitler wherever he would go. (I don't know about the role of the German press in the 1930’s.)
My world view has matured into further belief in America, freedom, free markets, and restrictions on Government. Friends and relatives have a world view that has matured into further rejection of all that I believe. We have never been further apart. We (at FreeRepublic) may face a gathering storm, much like those who were not swayed by Hitler. I hope (and pray) that I am wrong.
Care to clarify that? How is it Bush's fault? Bush didn't turn them loose on the continetal US so they could face a criminal trial. 0bama did.
So, I'm really interested in hearing how he can blame Bush (other than just words coming out of his face) for an act HE did??
I hear ya. Exactly!
Impeach, impeach, IMPEACH!
