The House this afternoon passed an expanded hate crimes bill that would protect gay victims, and its chief sponsor in the Senate called for prompt final action. The measure passed 249-175 over the objections of conservatives, the Associated Press reports.

Annie:

From the AP’s article:

“The bill...provide(s)...grants for investigation and prosecution of hate crimes. The federal government could step in and prosecute if states...declined to exercise their authority.”

O, et al, knows what is best for us.

Here is an illustrative comment someone posted to the news article:

“I congratulate the House of Representatives on this terrific news! We should remain vigilant and remember this is but the first step in the War on Hate. We need to pass a Hate Speech bill in order to finally stamp out all forms of hatred or speech that we find disagreeable or dangerous. If extremists don’t like it, they can get out of OUR country!”

"Is this the version that churches will be censored with?"

It's the version that overturns your constitutional rights to freedom of speech.

We’ll never be able to repeal this crap until it all goes down its own toilet, just like with the Nazies. This is a Lord of the Flies scenario coming up. The evil spirit of condemnation and retarded single issue liberals, missing the forest for a tree of worship, is panning out for some real calamities to come, making the fantasy driven US ready for the picking by islamofascists and then some.

"What “speech” will be outlawed next?"

What do you mean, "next"? This effectively outlaws ALL freedom of speech, no matter who it's directed at. The only exception is the freedom to bash Christianity. That hate crime will never be enforced.

Yeah, I am well known at work for my “hate” speech, but I am somewhat prepared for being fired/laid off.

Where do they keep the central registry of queers? It might pay for all of us to claim we are as queer as three-dollar bills to get “special” treatment.

Homosexuals are a subset with low self governance regarding their sexual expression. I tend to think these perverts(inverts?)will think this type of legislation will free them to beging to reap straight children. For example a Homosexual California legislature wanted to decriminalize the possession of a few pictures of "kiddie porn."

Comment: As an aside this type of "Hate Crime" legislation is really class legislation. It is like the Medieval laws protecting nobles or high churchmen. Maybe after protracted abuse the peasant parents of exploited children will revolt.

Yep, that’s where I preach at the church of Christ. If they push it, I will go to jail. I don’t preach hate. I do teach the difference between sins of the flesh and works of the Spirit. And it’s those that fall under the first part that are going to get us in trouble. But our reward is great in heaven.

Our country they say? These people are 2 year old mentals.

I got news for them: they never had one and never will, simply because runaway fags returning home for claims with their pervs and government pretend advocates to take it all in a big party will never know what a real home is all about.

The power of the home is that when it’s gone and dishonored, it’s gone.

GO ahead, take it all down, I would have never thought of worst punishment for them. The true haters are they.

Ya, the mental institution has taken over.

At one time, homosexuality was considered a mental illness.

I don’t know enough about this whole gay, trans-whatever to say if they are mentally ill. But they are definitely different.

And as far as hate crimes, if we’re talking murder, assault, or anything else, these things are crimes anyway, no matter who the victim is.

I want to know if this is a slippery slope to the thought police. Somebody here said that churches may be enjoined from speaking against homosexuality? Then is certain speech going to be hate speech, and thus outlawed?

Since congress would not define sexual orientation, the bill has left a big opening for over 30 different sexual orientations. Ex: Frotteurism - which means approaching an unknown woman from the rear and pressing or rubbing his “thing” against her buttocks. Sorry but I would be charged with a hate crime with my response. Nice work Liberals!!
