U.S. Warns Other Nations Not to Ban Pork
Wash Post ^ | Wednesday, April 29, 2009 | Spencer S. Hsu

Posted on 04/29/2009 2:46:45 AM PDT by angkor

U.S. officials said yesterday that they are renaming the swine flu crisis the "2009 H1N1 virus outbreak" and warned other countries not to "ban or prevent" imports of U.S. pork or other products.

"This really isn't swine flu. It's H1N1 virus," Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack said.

"We want to say to consumers here and abroad that there is no risk to you. There is no scientific evidence whatsoever that there is any link between consuming pork, prepared pork products and the H1N1 virus," U.S. Trade Representative Ron Kirk added.

Prices of U.S. pork, corn and soybeans dived Monday after Russia, China and the Philippines suspended pork imports from Mexico and some U.S. states, despite the absence of any link between pork consumption and the influenza A virus called H1N1.

"We want to make sure that a handful of our trading partners don't take advantage of this legitimate concern over public health and engage in behavior that could also damage the world's economy," Kirk said. "Any actions -- activity engaged by any of our trading partners not based on sound science and not based on our rules-based systems of governing could do extraordinary damage, not just to our economy but to those of other countries, as well."

"H1N1 virus" is offensive to all the H1N1's and all the viruses out there.

Plus it's too hard to remember.

Since virtually every case has originated in Mexico, how about "Mexico flu?"

That's racist!! No matter what the truth is....it's not politically correct to ask the mind-numbed sheeple of the world to ponder the truth!! /sarc /sarc

In all reality, the 0 admin and the Dims needed a diversion to make all the sheeple feel warm and fuzzy inside and that the Dim goobermints really care.

IOW, look this way while we fly AF2 thru NYC and print mo' money cuz weeze needs its.

One would think with a $600 million election stash ($250 million of that mysteriously allowed to come in from undocumented overseas sources) that the 0 staff would have had at least hired / talked to enough crooks to fill the administration within 100 days.

Speaks a lot of success, don't it?

Mexican flu works for me.

Also - "standard flu and a boat-load of iatrogenic deaths from medical malpractice in Mexico" works for me too.

The headline’s more than a little ironic, inasmuch as the congress of the United States, as well as our president, has chosen to glut itself - and then some - on pork. So much so that American kids not yet born will be paying the cost of it for many, many generations to come.

Exactly! And what about the trans-H1N1's, and cross dressing H1N1 viruses out there? Don't they deserve a little bit of respect from this benighted administation?

Legal protections, anyone?

Link to Swine Flu Information at CDC:

http://www.cdc.gov/swineflu/key_facts.htm

“Can people catch swine flu from eating pork?”

“No. Swine influenza viruses are not transmitted by food. You can not get swine influenza from eating pork or pork products. Eating properly handled and cooked pork and pork products is safe. Cooking pork to an internal temperature of 160°F kills the swine flu virus as it does other bacteria and viruses.”

Much more about the Swine flu at the link.

It is worth noting that the meat packing industry in America - which apparently is now lobbying furiously to change the English language concerning swine flu to something more Orwellian and less disfavorable to its pork products - was also solidly behind the 2007 “immigration reform” effort in Congress which we thankfully quashed.

The meat packing industry in America is a prime employer of illegal aliens, and in towns where they are the prominent employer, the cultures have turned from American to Mexican (even in in heartland states such as Iowa).

And though it is not even close to being the only example, here’s one citation from America’s largest meat packing association/lobbyist the National Meat Association which clearly demonstrates its wish to place its own economic interests above other Americans and the country as a whole.

I found many other similar examples in June 2007, the entire food service and food production industry employs illegal aliens and supports amnesty for them.

http://nmaonline.org/pdf/pr6.8.07_immigration.pdf

“The United States needs legislation that will provide for unskilled workers to come legally to this
country. At the working level of America, and in the meat harvesting and processing facilities, reform
of the process by which immigrants lawfully gain working status is long overdue.”

Mo' bailout monies for the pigs and the swine on The Hill!! Treasury printing presses must be supercharged immediately if we a to avoid 0-failure!!!

Amnesty doesn't work; didn't when Reagan tried it....sealing the borders accompanied with deportation of their non-citizen families is the only option at this time.

I say use twice captured illegals, deported once already, for free labor to finish building the southern wall!! 30 million illegals could build the wall in 3 months!!

The socialist scumbag NWO traitors w/in goobermint will continue to turn a blind eye to unsecured borders, hand out freebies to the illegals, and make ACORN push the illegals to vote.

Anyone who doesn't think that the goobermint media hype about swine flu man bear pig Gorebull warming flu threat isn't about alerting the 30 million uninnoculated illegals is full of themselves.

It's all a political hack-n-sack for the socialists on The Hill to garner illegal votes for the Dims & the NWO members (RINOS) to remain in power.

It continues to be extremely easy to connive ignorant illiterate illegals to illegally vote for the socialists seeing how most have trespassed into the US from 3rd world banana republics where their government does practically nothing for the average person.

Thus, billions handed out to illegals in many types of giveaway programs to keep them slopping at the trough and in the US.
