The US Defense Department said Tuesday it is weighing how best to manage the imminent release of photos showing abuse of detainees amid concern about an international backlash. The Pentagon announced last week it had agreed to release hundreds of photos from US-run prisons in Iraq and elsewhere in response to a long-running lawsuit by the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU).
The photos were used as evidence in criminal investigations of US soldiers accused of abusing detainees in the "war on terror" during president George W. Bush's administration.
"There is an extensive effort underway in this building, and in Central Command, and in Iraq and Afghanistan ... to determine the best way in which to share these photos with the public," Defense Department press secretary Geoff Morrell told reporters.
He said the photos, which date from 2001 to 2006, would not show a systematic pattern of abuse and that such cases were the exception.
"I think it needs to be put in perspective that these, ultimately, represent a very small percentage, a minute percentage of the overall interactions that our forces have had with detainees," Morrell said.

Liberal response? Lets go after more Americans for getting intel. from well fed and cared for enemies of America who behead, cut off hands, feet and much much more. I could post many many more instances of beheadings but it wouldn’t matter one bit to Obama, his corrupt inner circle or his political hacks unless they themselves or someone they care about were to end up at the mercy of these ruthless animals. Releasing these videos and out interrogation techniques will do nothing to change the enemy’s tactics, not one bit.

Without exception, ALL of the photographs being released were used as evidence in trials of Americans for abusing the prisoners. That's the rub to the absurdity of this whole thing....
Treason has been meaningless since BJ Clinton's day.

When libs bring this stuff up at backyard parties to get a reaction, just say you've seen the Nick Berg beheading video, and it's not like the quick swift theatrical thing that people might have seen on Masterpiece Theatre when one of Henry VIII's wives got it. Then say that dribbling a bit of water in somebody's face looks pretty tame by comparision.
You'll drive the libs nuts, and the mushy middle will see them for what they are.
There are also unspeakable 9/11 pics available that cannot and should not be displayed on this forum. Few people have seen them or even know they exist. I hope that for every "torture" pic posted, that someone puts up a link to these horrible photos.
I hope that for every "torture" photo displayed that someone posts a picture of returning military coffins, of a widow receiving a flag at a graveside, of some of the wounded at Walter Reed hospital, of that little boy saluting at his military dad's funeral, of Obama refusing to put his hand over his heart for the Pledge.
Let's prepare to do this now. Yes, I'm calling for a freep against pure evil. I'm sure we'll get national attention if we do this, however, this is not the point. The point is we're not going to lie down and take this anymore from a government that's DECLARED WAR ON US AND YET IS COZYING UP TO OUR MORTAL ENEMIES!.
Let the freeper who posts the first "torture" photo start the thread. Space them out so we can intersperse a photo of a jumper from the Trade Tower and so on down the line.
Let's be prepared for this sick and abominable act of photographic violence against our people.
Let's not react....let's be like our historical Minutemen and be totally prepared for the minute the photos are released and are posted here.
