More like a cross between tilting at windmills and the impossible dream especially since we are in the minority, and I bet even conservative pols don’t want term limits.

Term limits have been ruled unconstitutional by the Supremes. Let's fight winnable battles. Our Constitution specifically states that the POTUS and Vice POTUS have TERM LIMITS.
For the Supremes to interpret the Constitution in favor of NO term limits for Congresscritters seems strange to me.

“I dont disagree. You should not switch but be elected if you change parties.”
How about, a party switch immediately initiates a special election?

I agree...just pointing it out.
BTW...We need to bump the Obama terror plane threads all day as well. Clearly, Specter, Obama, and the dems are hoping this news gets it off the front page today and off the shows tonight.

she lost McCain votes in the suburbsIf anyone voted for Obama they didn't do it as Republicans or because of Palin. They would have voted for him anyway as a cult figure or as a celebrity because of their elitism. I can't imagine regular folks voting for a arrogant, stupid, community orgainizing, Socialist!

Snowe and Collins could follow his lead.
And, if John McCain senses serious opposition to his re-election, he could switch too. He thought about it in 2000 and wanted to be Kerry’s vp in 2004.

Wrong- I helped get out McCain vote in Ohio...plenty of GOP voted for Obama and more than a few told me that Palin was part of the problem-...the others said trade was the most important reason for not voting for John-these jobs aren’t coming back-McCain.

Specter knows he has a better chance of re-election in PA if he’s turned Dem officially.
