While half the nation has a favorable opinion of last Wednesday’s events, the nation’s Political Class has a much dimmer view—just 13% of the political elite offered even a somewhat favorable assessment while 81% said the opposite. Among the Political Class, not a single survey respondent said they had a Very Favorable opinion of the events while 60% shared a Very Unfavorable assessment.

One-in-four adults (25%) say they personally know someone who attended a tea party protest. That figure includes just one percent (1%) of those in the Political Class.

You know no one is going to speculate on the form of any society wide civil unrest & risk their credibility.

It was simply an allusion to a conflict coming to a head soon. The strongest thing said was that the Tea Parties of last week would indeed seem to be the equivalent of gramma’s saturday afternoon tea parties compared to the demonstrations that would happen if this thing is ratified.

-- I think the "political class" is made up of elected officials and media elite. --

Political celebrity. Status obtained by taking periodic popularity contests. The wisdom of the political celebrity is probably a notch below the wisdom of the entertainment or sports celebrity.

A month ago this 51 % number would’ve been 43 percent. We should consider this progress.

I kinda like this. I think we should incite a class war of our own.. The Ruling Class versus the rest of America. I was talking with a fellow tea party participant and one of my co- workers overheard... did NOT know about lifetime pay for Congress. Work 2 years, get paid for what? 20? 30? Turns out, they are the biggest union of all!

This is an interesting video, but I am concerned because I see a third party movement and Ron Paul supporters coming to the fore front. I was looking at the ReTeaParty Site and they were pushing this.. and this is where I get off.

This guy may be a jerk, and surely someone needs to get the message, but if we descend in to attempting to establish a third party we will suffer the fate of the Perot movement.

We have to remember what we are fighting for and that is a Representative Democracy not a pure Democracy and rule by the mob. This is the direction the enemies of freedom are pushing for. The path of bitter rabbles marching in the streets plays into the hands of those who would take our freedom. We must instead with cool heads take the reigns of the Republican party and with cool heads steer our way back out of this abyss.

The teaparty movement could do this, but the attempt to be "non-partisan" is very much a straw man. Our losses are great and the gain of a nominal 10% of the more independent Democrats may not be worth the division of our own base. But, folks will see this in time. I am never going to be a follower of Ron Paul and the like. I think taxes today are just fine but I know that what is coming based on what the Congress has already done and not done by allowing the Fed to run Amok is coming to roost if something isn't done now. So the Tea Parties should go on and play out their game.

But, right now the Republican party ground apparatus is in shambles, but the Tea Party people are those who can fill all of the local, district and state seats inside of this year if we cared. The national Republican party would be us if we reached out to take it if we dare. This is what the Nutroots did with the Democrats and it was a winning strategy.

One problem that I saw with the tea parties was too many messages, too many gripes being aired. Not that they aren’t valid, but this will go no where if we don’t stick to ONE message.

It should be about EXCESSIVE SPENDING which will cause humongous debt burden for future generations ... who are too yount to vote or haven’t been born yet ... so they have NO REPRESENATION.

You are right. This movement will gain power in direct proportion to how FOCUSED it becomes.

If it wanders off into the forest of pet conservative issues -- as valid as many of those issues are -- it's not going to blunt itself badly.

I really do wish my father were alive to see this day. These Tea Parties would have tickled him pink.

The next go-around will be the king-killer. Most folks had no idea this was even going to happen. the NEXT time they hear TEA PARTY, they will know what it means. Y'all think this one was good - You ain't seen nothing yet!

Watch and see.
