PLANET JANET (DHS Secy's bizarrely paranoid rant--pack her back to Arizona)
NY POST ^ | 4/19/09 | EDITORIAL

Posted on 04/19/2009 2:52:50 PM PDT by Liz

DHS Secy Napolitano's not backing down on what she insists was an accurate "assessment" of a "right-wing" terrorist threat---particularly slanderous of brave Americans who fought in Iraq and Afghanistan-- saying only "to the extent veterans read it as an accusation, an apology is owed." Not good enough. The report was a bizarrely paranoid rant. Which is why her agency's own civil-rights division raised red flags over some of the language-- Napolitano released it anyway and defends her agency's paranoid warning that right-wing crazies are poised to launch a coup d'etat----she points to a similar DHS report on left-wingers. But that report warns only about the potential for cyber attacks -- a far cry from the so-called "violent" threat posed by the right. President Obama needs to disavow this nonsense -- and either set his DHS secretary straight or send her back to Arizona

Obama had said during the campaign that he was against homosexual marriage (I believe that he used the word ‘gay’)

Does that put him in Janet's sights also?

It would be nice if a clip of that could be introduced to youtube. Also, Gibbs could be asked about that at his press conference. Let's hear how he defends that!

The really stupid thing about the "report" is it was sent to the people it described.

Freddie Mac records exempt from FOIA (Obama Admin Denies FOIA Request)
Sunlight Foundationm | 03/26/2009 | Bill Allison
FR Posted 03/27/2009 by BuckeyeTexan

Bob Secter and Andrew Zajac of the Chicago Tribune report that, while researching what went at Freddie Mac during the period White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel served on the government sponsored enterprise’s board of directors, they were unable to get minutes of board meetings and other information: The Obama administration rejected a Tribune request under the Freedom of Information Act to review Freddie Mac board minutes and correspondence during Emanuel’s time as a director.

The documents, obtained by Falcon for his investigation, were “commercial information” exempt from disclosure, according to a lawyer for the Federal Housing Finance Agency. Freddie Mac executives cooked the books, mismanaged the firm, and ultimately drove it into the ground, costing taxpayers billions of dollars. The “commercial information” exemption is reserved for private companies–Freddie Mac is by no means a private company anymore.

==================================

REFERENCE Rahm Emanuel was director when Freddie Mac board was tipped to fraudulent BONUS scheme

"On (Rahm) Emanuel's watch, the board was told by executives of a plan to use accounting tricks to mislead shareholders about outsize profits the government-chartered firm was then reaping from risky investments.

The goal was to push earnings onto the books in future years, ensuring that Freddie Mac would appear profitable on paper for years to come and helping maximize annual bonuses for company brass. The accounting scandal wasn't the only one that brewed during Emanuel's tenure. During his brief time on the board, the company hatched a plan to enhance its political muscle.

That scheme, also reviewed by the board, led to a record $3.8 million fine from the Federal Election Commission for illegally using corporate resources to host fundraisers for politicians. Emanuel was the beneficiary of one of those parties after he left the board and ran in 2002 for a seat in Congress from the North Side of Chicago. The board was throttled for its acquiescence to the accounting manipulation in a 2003 report by Armando Falcon Jr., head of a federal oversight agency for Freddie Mac. The scandal forced Freddie Mac to restate $5 billion in earnings and pay $585 million in fines and legal settlements.

It also foreshadowed even harder times at the firm. Many of those same risky investment practices tied to the accounting scandal eventually brought the firm to the brink of insolvency and led to its seizure last year by the Bush administration, which pledged to inject up to $100 billion in new capital to keep the firm afloat. The Obama administration has doubled that commitment."

Choose this day how you will serve; Will you serve unwillingly and at the biding of others wearing the yoke of socialism or will hold true to the course of our forefathers’ standing tall and serving freely? As for me I choose to SERVE THE REPUBLIC!

“The report speaks more of the author than it does the subject matter.”

I agree. Documents can be ‘started’ or ‘begun’ and revised over and over, as we know. Just like the illegal ‘Office of the president-elect’ came from nowhere, but had obviously been drawn months in advance, complete with documents, so can this be pulled out of the hat in months...or weeks, from some 20-somethings’ brains who sit around and dram $hit up. They probably lived on pop, E-drinks and pizza, and washed only occasionally, too.

I can just see them in a hotel room or office somewhere in the Watergate buildings pulling crap out of their.... and thinking they are really on to something like—”Oh, that’ll make ‘em mad as h3LL.”

That Napi signed off on it and the WH, too, means they knew exactly what would be set in motion. And, yes, they must be trying to provoke us to action. They will also eat their own, since these 2-somethings are now loose ends.

I just read a column from Eric Peters that another real stinker is on his way. It is Charles Hurley, current CEO of MADD, formerly worked for IIHS (Insurance Institute for Highway Safety) has been nominated to head NHTSA (National Highway Traffic Safety Administration). He is also bad news. He supports roadside checkpoints, returning to the 55 mph speed limit and supports traffic cameras. He would be in good company with Janet who brought speed cameras to Arizona.

she (Napilitano) is ,without a doubt , Obama’s worst appointment so far .

Coming so close to slandering veterans is beyond stupid, politically, and God only knows what sort of mindset spawns such stupidity (or vice versa).

But the flap isn't just about veterans. Let the media make it all about veterans, and being paranoid about all other political dissidents seems reasonable by comparison.

That's not a happy outcome, either.

Judge Napolitano said the Obama Admin's attempts to force banks to exchange ownership for TARP funds would start an FDIC investigation into extortion. So, we have the Obama Administration engaging in extortion and violating the First Amendment.

Americans have not yet learned the full extent of official corruption, thievery, schemes and scams involving $BILLIONS of tax dollars aided and abetted by the dupes on Capitol Hill. Here's a sap-happy trio of greedsters, salivating to divvy up the taxpayers' billions.

Bernanke, his predecessor Paulson, and J Ezra Merkin.

GMAC Chair Merkin got a $6 billion bailout.

MERKIN'S CAYMAN ISLAND HEDGE FUND While he was GMAC chairman, J Ezra Merkin ran hedge funds as a sideline and was feeding funds into Bernie Madoff's Ponzi operation (and pocketing hundreds of $millions in fees).

Merkin's name is connected to 1) Ariel Fund, based in the Cayman Islands (an infamous money laundering haven--a partnership between Merkin and London's Fortis Bank), (2) Ascot Partners, (3) general partner of Gabriel Capital LP, a $5 billion family of hedge funds, and, (4) managing partner of Gotham Capital.

NOTE Some of Madoff’s loot was found in Gibraltar. Merkin owns a bank in Israel. All you do is fly in---go to a bank with a suitcase full of cash and nobody asks where you got it.......or if taxes were paid on it.

BACKSTORY GMAC chair J Ezra Merkin and Chrysler's Stephen A. Feinberg (owns private equity firm---Cerberus Capital Management LP). The two partnered to buy Bank Leumi from the Israeli government for $500 million.

BAILOUT SWILLERS Stephen A. Fineberg's private equity firm---Cerberus Capital Management LP--- also owns Chrysler Motors. The US Treasury bought a $5 billion stake in GMAC, and lent $1 billion to GM. This latest loan is IN ADDITION to the $13.4 billion the US Treasury lent earlier to J Ezra Merkin's GM, and Fineberg's Chrysler.

SWILLING TIMELINE In 2006, GM sold 51% of Merkin's GMAC to Feinberg's private equity firm Cerberus Capital Management LP (which also owns Chrysler).

HOGGING AT THE PUBLIC TROUGH In May 2004, Feinberg's "private investment group," Cerberus Capital Management, LP (Cerebrus is the three-headed dog that guards Hades), became majority owner of IAP Worldwide Services, Inc, one of the US Army’s largest contractors in Iraq. In Afghanistan, Feinberg's IAP runs a drug/addiction center" in Kunduz---Kunduz is the largest opium supplier in the world. BUSY LITTLE BEAVER IAP also provides infrastructure support for the British Ministry of Defence in Kandahar....apart from supporting the US Army in Basra.

TIMELINE On October 19, 2006, John W. Snow, Secretary of the Treasury under George H.W. Bush, was named head of Cerebrus.

BAILED OUT AND STILL SWILLING Stephen A. Feinberg's IAP also serves a broad array of federal clients including the US DOD, NASA, the US Geological Survey, the US Agency for International Development, the IRS, and a variety of other federal agencies.

FEDERAL RESERVE INFO A FACTOR? Madoff's connections to J Ezra Merkin and Stephen Fineberg's company---Cerebrus---could also mean the connivers were stealing Federal Reserve insider info. Ex-Treasury Sect John Snow headed Cerebrus. Knowing Federal Reserves moves in advance would make zillions for the thieves...........on top of the billions they were swilling elsewere. These termites were running rampant allover the US government---Merkin and Feinberg's auto companies received billions in govt bailouts.

Where's the $6B Ezra?
