Rescued Captain invited to the Whitehouse(NOT)
Vanity | 04/19/2009 | Vendome

Hey, I was just wondering:

Did the Captain get invited to the Whitehouse for dinner or lunch? You know to meet his rescuer.

You would think that Obama would salivate over this as a prime photo op. He did after all have 17 briefings on this and pizza flown in from Saint Louis. This over four days with meticulous decision making on the part of the Posuer.

My understanding is when the captain came home he thanked his crew and the navy. Period. Not a word about the Posuer of the United States.

You would think a real American would gratefully thank Obama for his rescue unless...

Do you think he was told the real story by the Navy and met the men who "debugged" his rescuers?

Nah....not gonna happen.

He spent a few hours with his Real Rescuers. He is out shopping for Guns for his Next “Boat” trip around the horn.

Can’t be too Careful nowadays, with pirates and all.

At least they haven’t ‘Joe The Plumbered’ him yet. If I were him, I’d leave well enough alone. At least until the next election.

Bush in my imagination would respond something on the order of "they took a Fellow American hostage?  That can't be?  We left them a message 200 years ago saying we would be back if they pulled this stunt again."

"Tell you what.  I am from Texas and we a poster down there Wanted - Dead or Alive.  You tell those dummies, dhimmies or whatever they call themselves.  Hand over the Captain, NOW.  There isn't an or else."  Now I am going to my morning workout and I expect a report, when I finish, saying the captain is safe and we have sent a message.  You have no limitions on operations and you are free to fire on the dummies who did this.  In fact, I expect it (Of course I can't as President say that and didn't but...)

I expect to see the pirates invited to a White House dinner, when it’s discovered that they are Obama’s cousins!

A friend relayed that story. I am wondering if it is true. You know, he didn’t want to off his cousins?

You have stated exactly what I think Pres Bush would have done. There would have been no four-day wait. They would have had the orders to rescue NOW!

One story has it that Naval commanders on the scene finally! said the hell with waiting for a reversal of Obama's "don't hurt anyone" rule, unless the Captain is at the point of being murdered.

So I'll be very pleased if Obama abstains from punishing the rescuers.

No way barak would be seen with the Captain. He probably is on the RWE list.

” Captain Richard Phillips will soon get the opportunity to personally thank the man who was instrumental in saving his life, President Barack Obama.
The White House wants to bring together released captive Captain Phillips, Maersk crew members and the military members who saved the captain’s life.”
“ White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs says the meeting has not been scheduled as of yet. “

http://whitehouse.blogs.foxnews.com/2009/04/17/obama-to-meet-with-cpt-phillips-and-maersk-crew/

Barry was instrumental in saving Captain Phillips.
You see, most Commanders in Chief would not have ordered the rescue.
Most would not have had the deliberative calmness of Obama to wait three days before calling in the SEALs.
Allowing the captain to escape into the ocean at night and not have SEALs there was all part of an elaborate Punking of the pirates by Barry.
To take them off their game.
The man is brilliant, I tell you.
And then, he co piloted a B-2 Spirit to the region , made a HALO drop onto the poop deck of the Bainbridge and donned the attire of a SEAL.
Mistakenly at first putting on a fur coat and barking arr arrr arr and clapping his flippers .
Then Barry single handedly , with one shot , took out all 3 terrorists.
Barry and Barry alone deserves all the glory.

No. As someone pointed out on another thread, Obama took credit for the rescue for about one day, and then the whole thing dropped off the radar screen as if it never happened.

Why?

Because Obama certainly doesn’t want it to be known that he obstructed the rescue for four days. But neither does he want it to be known that he had anything to do with shooting those three black Muslim pirates. That would greatly offend his base.

So the whole affair was swept down the memory hole. Us conservatives are still talking about it, but the libs have “moved on.”

There was a great opportunity there to sell newspapers and magazines. But do we think the Captain is going to appear on the cover of People or US any time soon? Or Mother Jones?

I think not.

I think the initial item in yourlist should be something like:

Have Cousin arrange a Pirate/Hostage event. Be sure to use rookies.

Captain Phillips has already met and had dinner with his rescuers aboard USS Bainbridge.

Geeze. Obama did all that? He is truly amazing.

Still, I can't help but wonder why he didn't just step off the back of the Bainbridge, walk across the water and have a talk with those hooligans. Seems like, with all his superpowers, he could have resolved this situation amicably. He could have given the miscreants a coke and some apple pie.

I wish I could meet him. He is my Zero.

A few more details are squeaking out. I think the Navy felt that had to force the issue and get the authority to shoot when “the hostages life was in danger.” Not saying it wasn’t in danger but you send everybody off the fantail expect the Seals.

They had the one pirate in sick bay treating his infected icepick wound that one of the crew managed to inflict on him.
They very slowly shortened up the line connecting the lifeboat to the ship and pulled them in.

I think as soon as they got a clean shot they whacked them. With authority delegated to the Seal team commander and nobody else topside who is going to say different? I’m not so certain that the administration doesn’t feel like they got pantsed on this one by the Navy.

Next time they’ll probably want an administration official on board to make sure nobody does anything competent.

LOL! I read it the same way you did.

I imagine Obama smiling for the cameras while simulaneously cursing the Seals under his breath.

Hasn't been a whole lot of press coverage either, and the guy is a true-blue hero.

He must be a Pub.
